I was staring at a jar of peanut butter today and was almost overcome with the urge to smear it on my face. I guess I decided not to because I realized that by busting my cycle, I'd in fact just be following YOUR cycle, and that I needed another way to escape the doldrums of everday life.

But dammit, now I wish I'd done it, if only for the experience.

I saw the move "Proof" for the first time. There was a part of the movie where the main character is admonished by her professor for turning in proofs that look like "Jazz" rather than thought-out, linear, predictable work.

Then it hit me. The principle of cycle bust is that life should less like pop and more like jazz. Remove yourself from the bonds of predictable meter and melody. The notes that you're creating will be wholly your own, and who knows where that may take you...
