quite a smash on YouTube, and worth it ::
I can't possibly imagine how many stills it took to create that! Simply amazing work. Thanks, Ze!

it really is THE special effect -- good direction and editing.

You can really get some awesome effects with stop-motion! I'm a total newbie at it and this makes me want to try new stuff. Thanks, Ze!

That reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42nkkPCuA0o&feature=related which must be obligitorily mentioned every time stop-motion is discussed on the internet.
You've got to cut it some slack, since it was made in 1979. And it is right from the Disney playbook and perhaps reveals a bit more of the creator's latent egoism than is tasteful--but still, pretty technically awesome in a pre-CGI world.
