two wonderful stop-action films

the first is an excerpt from a German student's thesis, and although you might not understand it, I'm sure you'll appreciate the art of it...the second uses real-world footage shot through a lens that creates the feeling of peering over miniatures :: click below to watch ::

I find this campaign to be quite powerful. In the original story, the writer screwed up the slogan. The comedian in me would say - "what? is your writer reta.... oh, um nevermind", but the overall message of the campaign has led me to take the pledge.

imogen heap, her upcoming ep, and her online goings-on

Imogen has been a favorite of mine for a while (and she had the dream). She is about to release an EP and I thought it would be a good time to point to her recent online activity :: Her new blog will be collaboratively written using twitter :: She recently released all the individual elements of a track and asked fans to remix them :: Her YouTube Channel remains charming and personal and incudes some snippets from the upcoming album as well as a call for album cover artwork (winner will fly to the UK for a week and stay with Immi while working on the final piece) ::

also search around youtube for little gems like this (thanks ingrid)

Have you had the dream?

If you’ve had the dream, you will know it

Strings, tubes, wrinkles, or flowing lines….
The dot

You probably had it multiple times, and it probably started when you were young. It may have been while you were asleep. It may have been while you had a fever. It may have sometimes been a waking dream, like a trance.

You’ve often wondered what the dream was… and if anyone else had it.

We are looking for others who have had the dream.
Tell us about your dream.
What did you see, or what was happening, in the dream? It might defy words, but try…
How did the dream make you feel?
How old were you when you first remember having the dream? How many times would you guess that you had it? Did you stop having it at some point in your life?

The rules:
Send an email to: ihadthedream@gmail.com
Describe your dream.
We probably won’t write back for awhile. We need time to collect dreams and compare them.
We won’t publish comments that describe the dream, because we want people to describe it in their own words. If they see yours, it might change or influence their memories.
We may share your dream (anonymously) with someone else and ask them if your dream sounds like theirs, or not. We may send you someone else’s dream (without sharing their name) and ask you if it sounds like yours, or not.
After we build up a collection of dreams that we think are the same, we may post them (anonymously) on our blogs.

Have you had the dream?

amazing (ly awful) action sequence

touted as one of the "worst death scenes ever" this clip has one of the best delivered lines I have ever heard :: namely "man he must be smokin' some heavy doobies" :: try it out in a mirror, i doubt you can nail it like this guy did :: click below to watch ::

Sita Sings the Blues

"Sita Sings the Blues" :: about an hour-long animation that tells the "greatest breakup story ever told" :: a bit amateurish at times, but the v.o. banter is pretty great :: pulled me in :: available for download

i like these alot

posted personals :: for some reason this made me think of a fun absurdist recursion project I will never do :: have an ebay auction in which the winner receives all the money from the bidding. Sell it as a self sacrificing act : "I am not kidding...the highest bidder will receive every penny of the final bid...could be thousands of dollars!!!"

(yes - it means the buyer would make nothing...and in fact would lose money on the transaction fee)
