this is incredible. I can't imagine the hand-eye-ear coordination it must have taken to do that in one shot. Holy crap.

I like this one, though it's slightly less subtle:

a quotation is all i have......

"I follow cheerfully; and, did I not,
Wicked and wretched, I must follow still
Whoever yields properly to Fate, is deemed
Wise among men, and knows the laws of heaven."
Euripides, Frag. 965

Ok, I love it. But the question occurs- A 'user' of what, exactly?

Posted by: ds Bakker at September 13, 2009 10:40 PM

Time ME
------- --------
10 sec. Ok hands - weird
20 sec. Damn Ze is slipping
30 sec. Come on dude, really
40 sec. Ze, seriously!?!?
50 sec. Ok that's it I'm turning this.... holy shit
0:53 - 3:30 stunned silence

That was freaking awesome - I could never in a million years have even attempted to pull that off. I nominate that person for membership in the league of awesome. Any seconds?

I second Rob!

Posted by: jeano at September 14, 2009 2:32 AM

Hey, those hands went to my school (Carleton College)!

Posted by: mrib at September 14, 2009 2:49 AM

(couldn't resist...)

Posted by: rumigirl at September 14, 2009 8:48 AM

An oldie but a goodie.

Posted by: Mountzionryan at September 14, 2009 9:53 AM

Rob, I'm totally with you. I was just about to close the tab when my jaw dropped.

Ze, you almost lost me there man. I'm glad you came through though- that was awesome!

Posted by: Andrew at September 14, 2009 10:24 AM

Hahaha, I went to high school with the guy who did this. My friends and I have a way of showing up on your blog, Ze. (My friend and I did a little juggling in Ohio intro way back for The Show.)

Posted by: Michael W at September 14, 2009 11:38 AM

Yeah, but who made that? Turns out it was http://frecklestudios.com

But since most people rip w/o attribution, it's hard to find that out. But you should totally make stuff with them.

I bet you he's deaf.

Posted by: Leo at September 14, 2009 4:16 PM

I like this one. Intense.

this video is awesome.
my friend can do it too. pretty cool

Posted by: amian at September 15, 2009 11:44 AM

Ze, long time reader, first time poster. now a game of
that made me think of...

Posted by: Jaffin at September 16, 2009 12:35 PM

Ze, by "subtle" do you mean something like:

'Besides being totally awesome in and of itself, his efforts reveal things about the song that might be otherwise overlooked'?

because thats what I have always really liked about this video.

Posted by: k-rock at September 16, 2009 5:23 PM

The guy should have just edited out the first 20-30 seconds of the video and faded in on the good part. The set up was . . . yawn. But after that . . . like.

Posted by: Nicole at September 16, 2009 10:53 PM

Is this the elusive original daft hands? I've always been a big fan of this meme. Very impressive, and the copycats get pretty hilarious.

Posted by: Bret at September 17, 2009 7:36 PM

Hi, Ze, I'm a big fan of your stuff (just watched your TED talk which I had missed--great stuff!)

I also am a fan of Daft Hands. I just wanted to add that the most brilliant part of this video is the first 45 seconds! When people watch it for the first time, the first thought is, "what the hell?" and "why is this supposed to be popular? Without that 45 seconds of uncertainty the video would be nothing special.

make it better is dirty!

Posted by: gypsy sister at September 18, 2009 5:44 PM

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It reminded me just how magical the human race can be. Utterly fascinating.

Posted by: Tim at September 18, 2009 10:33 PM

dam looked like 2 people's hands, if so, holy shit.

Posted by: retdygfhjk at September 20, 2009 5:13 PM

The awesomeness of this awesome video, is equal to how awesome Daft Punk is. How could it fail?

Posted by: jenUnderscore_ at October 1, 2009 7:00 PM

The entry is too long, but some "hand dance" is necessary to set it up-- do you think they'
d do political messaging?
great vid
