The painting he makes with the soot from the rags is really amazing, too.

Well, that sort of makes several strong points, now doesn't it?

Wow, that's awesome. The only negative thing I can say about that video is about the quality. I'd love to see it in HD.

a sad and scary song without words
lovely

I like this guy, watch what he did with the rags

Posted by: nader at July 9, 2010 3:40 PM

Beautiful and heartbreaking! That's one way to clean up a city, I suppose.

The follow-up, in which he shows the painting he makes from the soot he collects, is equally awesome. (It's linked to at the end of the video, but it's hard to catch the link on YouTube before it goes away.)

Hmm - it's hard to arrest or charge the guy with anything. He wasn't doing anything except creatively "cleaning" the tunnel.

Brilliant stuff.

That was GREAT! How many people drove by that without noticing what they (me too) are doing to our world. It opened my really eyes!

Such a great idea, and I'm even more impressed that he makes paint with the soot from the rags.

The bit with the skulls melting or being washed away was one of the best parts.

Posted by: Jeremy at July 9, 2010 11:29 PM

Thats pretty amazing. It's to bad they washed it off. I don't mind creative graffiti it makes shitty things look cool.

Posted by: Harland at July 11, 2010 3:00 AM

Great idea! I should find someone to do that to the windows in my house from time to time...

We're an anti graffiti company based in the UK supplying anti graffiti coatings and graffiti removers.

I have to say if we must have graffiti I'd rather it be of this nature.

A very cool project!

What a beautiful way to encourage a badly needed cleaning. It is my sincerest hope that the artist was not ticketed.

Posted by: Tiffony at July 16, 2010 10:25 AM

beautiful work. nice that a totally sooty tunnel doesn't have to be cleaned, but as soon as someone turned it into something beautiful it's top priority to get it done!

does anyone know what the song in this video is/

Posted by: elephant at July 17, 2010 12:49 PM

really? did they really give him a ticket?

Posted by: kim at July 23, 2010 12:32 AM

I was wondering about the song as well.
