In other feats of engineering, I wonder if you or your readers have heard of the Falkirk Wheel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falkirk_Wheel

There are several videos on youtube of it in action.

Also, another word for "River Bridge" is "Aqueduct" ;)

I'm curious, why don't they want these rivers to join together?
And, what did the water do before they built the bridge?
