how to public speaking

Point 8 is awesome! Next time I'm an audience member I need to try that. :-)

IMO the most important part of preparing to speak publicly is to figure out the one organizing principle "what is it of value I'm trying to teach these people". Make sure everything you say or talk about contributes to that central point. It's your home base, your ki. It even helps you when you have to improvise since you can keep coming back to that basic central thought before you stray too far off the reservation.

I think the best piece of advice for public speaking is to smile. It automatically relaxes you and you speak with a bit more pep. This advice might not apply if you're speaking at like, a funeral, but it still might, it could be a pretty upbeat funeral.
