who do you hug?

auntie aubrey 11-20-2007 12:02 PM

the spouse. my dad. his wife, if she makes the first move. my aunts and uncles. one of my cousins, although not frequently.

i'm not a big hugger. i chalk some of it up to sensory defensiveness. i chalk the rest of it up to a reluctance to express intimacy with more than a few people. it's not that i don't love people. it's that it's difficult to touch them that intimately.

i have hug issues. or as i like to call it, hugssues.

lukkucairi 11-20-2007 01:20 PM

except aubs - I respect her space :p

Angry Kid Hoyt 11-20-2007 01:38 PM

Everybody & anybody.
I'm easy

edit: I would never ever hug Auntie since I know she don't like it none.
But I would hug lukkucairi because she sent me flowers when I was sick.
And Stephi_B because she needs one methinks

T.I.P. 11-20-2007 01:39 PM

i hug americans - family & friends

and "bise" frenchies - family, friends, and friends of friends

i'll even "bise" the occasional american if i can sense that do not have "bissues" :)

thank you for respecting my hugssues.

Grandparents, dad, brother, sisters, my fav cousin, Vanya, my best chica (in latter two cases it's the East European hug+bise thing - love it :)), my best buddy from Bavaria, some of the girlfriends/wifes of colleagues/friends, boyfriend (if I have one), and erm... my

:o (mine looks better, but seems they don't sell that model anymore)

Eta: Forgot e-hugging Perla :) (...and anybody else who wants)

Avalon 11-20-2007 02:52 PM

My Hsb., my kids, my mom, my siblings.. my blood relatives; we are back slappers/rubbers and face holders in the Soprano tradition...big family, lots of hugs.
Oh, and my dog, Samson.

Pretty much anyone I know well: parents, sister, extended family, some of my oldest female friends, and one of my male friends.

Frieda 11-20-2007 05:46 PM

i'm not much of a hugger. family & friends get the normal 3-kisses greeting.. 1 kiss if we see each other every day. there's not much hugging going on in the NLs anyway, people find it weird and too intimate.

madasacutsnake 11-20-2007 06:26 PM

Please don't touch me.

i can relate to this. when i first left my homeland to live in the south of england, acouldnie be fvckken doing with all this superficial *HUG*ing that goes on between folk who hardly know eachother - it's sheer wankitude, so it is! however, i'm well used to it now and i even hugged my greengrocer today when he told me he'd got some NEW! biscuit varieties in stock. joking.

bollocks to *HUGS*, i shall embrace you or nothing at all.

ok, we can just shake hands maybe? yeh.. if you must okay then... *HUG* (private parts 3ft apart)

lukkucairi 11-20-2007 07:33 PM

trisherina 11-21-2007 02:02 AM

Ahem. Pardon me. Turn down the capslock, please, ma'am. :)

I am quite the hugger. I embrace a wide variety of people. There are very few hugs I don't like, and quite a few that have changed me forever. I am keen to opportunities, and no one is safe. On a regular basis: family, close friends (probably ten?), and pets.

Jack Flanders 11-21-2007 02:14 AM

Sorry Ma'am. The ? was for CJ - but so a little defensive, hum?

HUG for you - girl. You need one!!! (So do I - shitty fvking thanx giving thing exploding.)

Coffee 11-21-2007 02:29 AM

I hug family, extended family, girl friends (with extra feeling), and my cats.

madasacutsnake 11-21-2007 07:45 AM

I read it wrong.

:( I am

1) allergic to nuts

2) wheat-intolerant

make it a pumpkin pie with gluten-free graham crust and you've got a deal :)
