Hey, I just worked this out. :mad:/:(

Hyakujo's Fox 05-13-2008 03:22 AM

Now I wish I'd made fun of him more often.

brightpearl 05-13-2008 05:48 PM

I know, right?

Limey bastard.

I noticed a while ago...where'd he go, and why?

brightpearl 05-14-2008 10:33 AM

Dunno, really...he said something about needing to make an appointment to get a Brazilian and traipsed off.

I thought about asking about the pasties and the rhinestone camel saddle, but I didn't want to pry.

lukkucairi 05-14-2008 12:14 PM

I'm underslept. I hate being tired and not able to sleep

plus I have to be nice to people today, and I don't feel nice!

on the recommendation of my ex, I am going off to meditate.

brightpearl 05-14-2008 02:24 PM

I'd like to announce that I have sympathy for lukku and wish her good sleep and dreams of cookies this evening.

Jaime 05-14-2008 03:56 PM

I did this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07Neg81mitg

Marcus Bales 05-14-2008 05:22 PM

I miss Craig Johnstone.

auntie aubrey 05-14-2008 05:53 PM

where'd he go, anyway?

lukkucairi 05-14-2008 06:48 PM

I would like to announce that the meditation helped, and that I've been able to be nice to people today.

I would also like to announce that I left a very difficult voice mail message just now and I feel like I want to go lie down.

T.I.P. 05-14-2008 10:12 PM

my body would like to announce that it is thrilled to be staying at home tonight with nothing to do but eat soup

apart from two germanic cars?

say it quickly and slur it together...

oudə (g)hea
i.e. outta here

has to be the most subtle purposeful announcement of departure I've ever seen

T.I.P. 05-14-2008 11:12 PM

oh ok I was pronouncing it "jeeah" and it wasn't making any sense at all

Marcus Bales 05-15-2008 12:37 AM

He could have said "Abyssinia"

brightpearl 05-16-2008 07:22 PM

I'm going to a play tonight.

brightpearl 05-16-2008 07:42 PM

I wonder if Wolverine would like to go with me.

I fancy his belt buckle.

Odbe 05-17-2008 12:02 AM

Why isn't this already the standard!?
Don't waste valuable book space.

Looks nice, except this one little detail: all books seem to be the same copy. (Two of them are even open, maybe someone's playing 'spot the difference'.)

Odbe 05-17-2008 03:58 AM

^Maybe all the books have the same cover.

brightpearl 05-17-2008 07:21 AM

The play was fantastic.

Wolverine would have loved it.

T.I.P. 05-17-2008 01:06 PM

what'd you see ?

brightpearl 05-17-2008 07:56 PM

It was a piece by a local playwright, set in a surreal purgatory. Reminded me of a modern-day The Master and Margarita. It's in a tiny theater, so the action is all around, and I got seated on the stage (), so I was right next to a pole dancer almost the whole time, hahahaha.

auntie aubrey 05-17-2008 08:51 PM

the quickening!

trisherina 05-18-2008 12:46 AM

I always liked that term, too. :)

brightpearl 05-18-2008 01:28 AM

^^That's wonderful, auntie! My son felt like a teeny frog to me...what do you feel, a spider?!? :D

auntie aubrey 05-18-2008 02:01 AM

^ ew, no. it's like butterflies and bubbles.

it weirded me out at first because up until now it's been a fairly conceptual thing. now all of a sudden there's something wiggling around down there and it's not me. there are people in there!

brightpearl 05-19-2008 09:21 PM

I'd like to announce that I've re-realized it could be worse.

Brynn 05-20-2008 02:37 PM

I'd like to announce that cayenne pepper in my tea definitely soothes my raging sore throat just like you said it would. Just one more example of how this conversation has enriched my life in so many tangible and intangible ways...

brightpearl 05-20-2008 03:06 PM

Cayenne tea and gargling with salt water sometimes help when nothing else does. Tea with a TON of honey, the juice of a whole lemon, and an inch's worth of sliced ginger is also good.

In other happy cold remedy news, hard candy and dark chocolate have been shown to be as effective as cough medicine in clinical trials.

lukkucairi 05-20-2008 03:40 PM

I'd like to announce that I've been in the Isle of Man for 36 hours now

I'm presently about 2/3 of the way down, on the north end of the big bay on the right hand side of the image.

Stephi_B 05-22-2008 02:37 PM

It's ready, the first FULL version! Really with everything, even the "And I wanna especially thank..." part. :D
198 pages after re-formating, yep and ca. 2/3 of that happened during the last 6 weeks or so (:o, procrastinitis)

Till boss is through with that thing I won't come to the wilderness (except there is a habilitation-celebration BBQ like next Mo :)), no I'll sit on me balcony and read scripts, books and stuff to pimp my knownledge. Really! No, I won't sit there, drinking a beer, getting a tan, reading a novel or magazine, I'll really learn. Really! (:D)

brightpearl 05-23-2008 08:32 AM

^That's great, Stephi, congrats!

I took my son to see Indiana Jones last night, and I'd like to announce that I was horrified to hear Indy say "nucular." After a few moments of shock, I decided to believe that it was subtle political commentary, and I was able to enjoy the rest of the movie.

Sort of.

lukkucairi 05-23-2008 08:47 AM

happy happies, Steph!

I would like to announce that they keep announcing that my flight will be delayed one more half hour past the time they last announced it was delayed until.

...more like "maybe"

auntie aubrey 05-24-2008 06:28 PM

i have officially purchased my first maternity clothes. i had been rejecting them because i kept telling myself, "i'm not that far along yet."

but today, in the dressing room, i finally stopped and really looked in the mirror and realized that actually i am. as if the aches and pains of stretching weren't enough of a confirmation.

brightpearl 05-24-2008 06:49 PM

Yes, eventually the rubber band through the buttonhole of your husband's jeans just doesn't cut it anymore. :D

I remember being 6 months pregnant and thinking I couldn't possibly get any bigger...hahahahaha. So here's a photo I found of a woman carrying twins, at 37 weeks.

You can't imagine it now, but that's where I want you to be, with big ol' babies at as near full term as you can get!!

auntie aubrey 05-24-2008 06:57 PM

oh god, not that big. everything i've read says it's not necessarily healthier for them to be ginormous at term.

i'm doing a lot of visualization. i read a study that was saying that they don't think it's necessarily any more beneficial for twins to go to 40 weeks than 38 because those last two weeks may actually be more stressful for the babies as they get soooooo crowded. so i'm visualizing that they will stay put until 38, and then after that it's fair game.

summer in georgia, pregnant with twins. oh god what have i done?

brightpearl 05-24-2008 10:01 PM

Oh, very few people would go to 40 weeks with twins, and so many go way early. And true that ginormous is not necessarily good.

But btw the baby girls in that big belly up there were reportedly 5-14 and 5-5 lbs. when born at 38 weeks, so your belly is going to be somewhere around that size, believe it or not. :D I'm so jealous!! It's terribly uncomfortable and all, but it's an irreplacable experience.

By "big ol'" I just meant over 4 or 5 pounds, big for twins. ;) And at least at least at least 36 weeks would make me happy.

we don't talk about that. my doctors have been emphatic about their last several twins-bearing patients who all went 38-40 weeks. so thus, visualization of 38 weeks.

also, one of my mom's cousins had twins back in 1976 and only found out she was having two a month before she delivered. they actually gave her an x-ray, can you imagine? times change. she ended up going all 40 weeks and each baby was something like 8lbs. i have no idea how she did it.

8lbs is what i mean by ginormous.
