Stephi_B 04-11-2008 11:16 AM

i called my obgyn and asked her for baby-safe medicines so now i've got antibiotics and pain meds. :)

:) :)

And boss (the bestest and kindest and coolest of all bosses) just called me:
He has organised me a post-doc contract from July till Dec -- SOOOO COOOOOL!!!!!!

:) :) :) :)

(I'm used to <= 3 month contracts, plus it was very unsure whether he can organise anything for me at all, as much he'd like to -- I dug out those fancy project for my post doc thing-a-do he always spoke of ;))

Maybe this one? ;)

Stephi_B 04-11-2008 11:24 AM

I'll try it ;)
I'll try ALL switches I come across
(do we need a switch thread btw?)

Frieda 04-11-2008 01:28 PM

my switch is called methylfenidate. see a psychiatrist if you want some too!

Stephi_B 04-11-2008 01:50 PM

^Nay, psychiatrists and particularly what they prescribe don't do me well :(
(in the account of my migraine periods - which always warn me kinda when something is wrong with my body -
I forgot that one I got from these bloody psychodrugs, so after the third pill I stopped and got rid of my depression without them - and any psychiatrist for that matter, SHE made me feel even worse),
then I better stick with me herbal stuff

and mayhap these again

and of course my self-prescribed music/dancing therapy :D

^ME TOO!!! :D

(Now that I enjoy the happy :) :) :) to finally see the vimeo videos Zerö posted during the week - our Linux @ work said 'fukk off' to me when I tried to install Flash version 9, nah it did not say 'fukk off' exactly, but 'permission denied to blablabla' which means the same though)

trisherina 04-12-2008 12:06 PM

It was the freshest move I've ever seen!

xfox 04-12-2008 08:49 PM

Yay! I survived the 60's (ok, now you know) and it was like that!!!!

(see Unspoken Word)

Stephi_B 04-13-2008 07:59 AM

^Aw, I'd give so much for a time machine at times!!

Gives me an immense happy & relief that I have a plan now what to do after I'm through with this uni (shite) :) :) :) :)

My friend and me came up with it during our (meanwhile traditional) pre-going-out teatime (enhanced now with strawberries as it is SPRING!! yay!),
the first part of the plan is something we already had discussed (I think that idea came originally from me, sounds like me totally), though not in a serious way. My friend added the location where to do that and put it on a serious level and first steps to go.

Woah, it's crazy, it's excellent! I love it!!! :) :) :) :)

As soon it takes on shape (gotta check out the location, see whether I dig it, can imagine to live there, run a business there, how we manage to get things going etc) I'll move my ass on the Announcement thread and fill you in - promise!!

Frieda 04-14-2008 07:02 PM

Frieda 04-16-2008 05:35 AM

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhh

i got a HUGE early birthday happy all the way from canada :) :) :)

thank youuuuuu! :D

trisherina 04-16-2008 09:41 AM

Wash your hands carefully. Items may contain foreign germs that would decimate the Dutch population.

Frieda 04-16-2008 11:39 AM

no worries, i will prevail

Stephi_B 04-16-2008 02:05 PM

Our office dove has laid an egg :) and we're sneaking very cautiously around the door not to disturb her (she's very nervous).
My colleague (who has developed already some fatherly feelings :D) will bring bread we'll feed her tomorrow :)

Frieda 04-16-2008 02:25 PM

webcam! webcam! pigeon cam!

auntie aubrey 04-16-2008 04:30 PM

after two grueling days of clerical errors on our paperwork, we finally closed on our new house. it's ours and we've got the keys and the garage door openers to prove it. also some paperwork.

also, i found out today from the hand surgeon that i don't have any bone damage in my finger and it's unlikely i'll have any long-term tendon damage. i may have to do some physical therapy but i should get my full range of motion back.

two happies!

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-16-2008 04:34 PM

You even happies in twos! Congratulations squared.

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-16-2008 04:38 PM

missing word: get

Edited version: You even get happies in twos! Congratulations2

auntie aubrey 04-16-2008 05:11 PM

i thought you were using happies as an action verb. ;)

Veruki 04-16-2008 06:00 PM

Auntie's news gave me a happy, congrats!

12"razormix 04-16-2008 06:02 PM

trisherina 04-17-2008 02:17 AM

lukkucairi 04-17-2008 02:36 AM

^ oh, wow.

happy :)

Odbe 04-17-2008 02:36 AM

:D I went away for a few days, met up with an old friend, met some new ones, did some amazing things and came back pleasantly amazed.
I didn't want to leave, though. I really hope I can go back one day, but it might be a long time :(

:D (I told our prof in half joke that webcams would be cool - but he said something like "that you people spend even more time doing private things at work..." Erm :o)

Ah, that reminds me I really gotta talk with the internet cafe boss about the latest version of skype and a short introduction course on the usage of the webcam & mic - so that I might be able to sing "Happy Birthday to you!" (be warned I can't sing but that with full passion ;))

9x^ Co-happies from the news of the brandnew, fortunately only shorttime damaged houseowner :) :) :) :)

Isn't your prof totally misguided in this matter? ;)

Stephi_B 04-17-2008 07:55 AM

Of course!! ;)
I still think there might be a screenshot programme installed and or co-boss and boss are laughing off their asses at what I/we post/PM/email.... :o

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-17-2008 08:13 AM

Good for you, my supreme big bosses (the Ministry of Interior) not only check my emails but listen in when I'm phoning.

Stephi_B 04-17-2008 09:10 AM

I'll mind that when I mail you
But well all our mails are saved now (officially they don't read them until you're under suspicion of crime...lalala - my neighbour chica always forwards me this funny mails from her mate - so I have some laughs at work, her mate is an old-school die-hard ultraleft - I mean ultraleft like in throwing stones at police and that), and I think they also wanna start to record one's online banking (OK they can do that, there ain't much to see in my case - in a double sense ;)) and observe the big nodes in the www.

*whooooooooo* what a doozy!

Veruki 04-18-2008 11:00 AM

my new camera

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-18-2008 11:08 AM

Oh, it's your right eye, not the left one. The mirror sort of mixed things up. And it's not a patch but a new camera! Congratulations on your new acquisition! :)

Veruki 04-18-2008 11:15 AM

It's not a mirror, it's photobooth, my camera takes far superior pictures;). I'm quite happy with it, but it's a shame I have to work today.
