How old were you (and give a brief account) when someone first broke your heart?

last I saw of him was the butt-end of a 5 seater cessna taking him away to PBI

I was in second grade. His name was Tom. He told me that he wanted to play with other girls, not just me.

trisherina 01-16-2010 01:16 PM

(sigh)

Seventh grade. His name was David and I knew him since we were both six. He asked me to the first evening school dance we (as a group of schoolmates growing up) had ever had. We slow-danced to "Love Hurts." The custom was to go for pizza after, and we walked as a group. I liked David. It was so nice to be like everyone else who got asked out to the dance and went for pizza, and I wondered if maybe I were normal after all! Then the next day another girl told me David had said I was frigid because I hadn't held his hand as we walked to the pizza place. He joined up with the group that this girl belonged to, and we never spoke more than a few words to each other after that. He died just prior to graduation when a thief at his dad's self-serve gas station stuck a rifle through the little hole in the glass that you pass things through, and shot him.

Every time it has happened, it has felt like the first time.

Stephi_B 01-17-2010 04:42 PM

i was 17, he 18 - and there was no explanation, there was a sweet reunion on his birthday's night, but it was not meant to be :(

i keep thinking about him from time to time, he was not my first man, but my first love, and my biggest love so far, it been bliss and wild and joy and crazy things with him :) (making love on a muddy hospital helicopter landing area in cold February rain :D)

i hope he's well (he already had a thick crime record back then, and I fear....).

Bman 01-21-2010 12:51 AM

Because of my condition (a sort of illogical allergy to rational thought ) I have, so far, done all the breaking. And I've managed to only do it to those I care about. No shortage of lessons learned, but one hell of a steaming heap of regret.

...It's hard being stupid

Bman 01-21-2010 12:54 AM

oh oh! um....quotd: What is your theme song?
