I'm thinkin' about my doorbell,
when ya gonna ring it,
when ya gonna ring it?

And it would make me happy if someone could tell me how to embed a video in a post. I'm sure it's obvious, but I can't figure it out. Pity me.

eepsilon 04-12-2007 01:24 AM

Odbe 04-12-2007 04:57 AM

Early morning, sitting high up on a rock, listening to the waves crashing below, eating breakfast still warm from the bakery, watching a wild orca out at sea.

Tremendous happy.

zero 04-12-2007 05:16 AM

^it's only twenty past nine in the morning and odbe's already won happy of the day with the above toast!

unless you know different..

Tunesmith 04-12-2007 09:24 AM

Nope. No qualms.

Odbe, that sounds heavenly.

brightpearl 04-12-2007 10:40 AM

Odbe, I don't often want to be someone else, but your this morning trumps mine by quite a long shot. :D

brightpearl 04-16-2007 12:09 PM

I'm done with my taxes.

I think I deserve a donut.

Who's going to bring me one?

Jack Flanders 04-16-2007 02:43 PM

Sorry, I'd love to bring you a freshly made donut, but I'm stuck at home watching the Delaware River rapidly rise. Fvking rain.  Oops - sorry. This is the "happy" bread. :o

auntie aubrey 04-16-2007 11:19 PM

A/C up full blast. bathwater hot, steamy and deep. bath bomb #1 scented with bergamot, frankincense, lemon, orange and gardenia. lights off, candle lit. brian eno on the laptop. bath bomb #2 scented with lemongrass and sweet basil. drawing swirlies in the rivulets of scented oil. pat dry and dust with jasmine and vetivert scented dusting powder.

olfactory cacophony, or heaven?

heaven.

lostsadie 04-17-2007 12:17 AM

Auntie, I think hot baths with scented oils cure cancer and the plague, for a few hours anyway.:)

Tunesmith 04-17-2007 09:03 PM

Upon entering my English classroom this morning, I was greeted with two full color posters:

-The first was all about AIDS, detailing both the types of transmissions of bodily fluids that can result in acquiring the disease and how one can have safe sex.

-The second listed the major types of STIs and STDs (once again, in full color! With detailed descriptions!) and the severity of each.

I burst out laughing when I saw the new decorations, which now inhabit the space usually reserved for essays, and when I asked my teacher why (the fvck)* he had put them up, he replied, "I thought it might be useful."

*Not actually said during the conversation

Not a conventional happy, I'm sure, but it got me out a gigantic bad mood. :D

^^^ *whew*

Jack Flanders 04-18-2007 02:22 PM

You can say that again!! It's now at 16.3 feet. Saw a lot of crap flowing past the house: fallen trees, plastic things, pieces of fishing docks. Fifteen years ago, I saw a hugh construction trailer floating by.

brightpearl 04-19-2007 03:41 PM

I just took a catnap and had a peach of a dream about finding a fiddler crab in the living room. He was a gorgeous little thing -- spotted and nubby, shiny brown and orange and white, with amazing patches of metallic navy on the top of his carapace. He didn't try to hide or menace me with his claw. He just sat there, up against the bookshelf, apparently sure that he was where he was supposed to be.

:D

zero 04-19-2007 04:30 PM

beryl be glad you had a happy in your sleep involving a wee psychedelic crab for it has won you happy of the day

sounds like zero alright

brightpearl 04-20-2007 11:32 AM

^^^:D It was definitely an automatic member of my list of top 5 dreams.

This makes me happy. Roger Moore's Fantabulous Eyebrows. Hee hee hee. Mesmerizing. It could only be improved upon if it were David Hasselhoff.

auntie aubrey 04-21-2007 07:53 PM

my all-natural handmade wildflower honey and lavender soap came out lovely, if a bit softer than i anticipated. no worries, though, it will harden as it dries.

i don't know if that gives you a happy, but it gives me a enough of a happy to share.

Avalon 04-21-2007 08:00 PM

^^^^^Looks wonderful! I love making my own soap :) It is a calming activity for me and I like to experiment with different scents and such.

madasacutsnake 04-21-2007 08:44 PM

Jack Flanders 04-22-2007 12:21 AM

That's given me a small happy of my own, especially as I try to eyebrow waggle along; you can't be sad after that. And it's the song from Tony Hart's gallery! (classic kids' TV program from my yoof)

However, the happy I originally came to report was brought on by watching two seagulls doing a little mating dance in the sun on the rooftops across from my window.

of all of the members of the blue cheese family, stilton ranks highest on the aromatherapeutic scale for evoking a sense of well-being and optimism. the scent resonates with the swadhisthana chakra, which is why the sacral symbol is most frequently depicted as a block of stilton blue surrounded by six petals. when bathing with blue cheese, always remember to follow with an acidulated rinse, perhaps in the form of a light balsamic vinaigrette. garnish to taste with walnuts and raisins.

driving around the Orwellian city of Nowa Huta in a Trabant with crazy guides on one of their communism tours.

brightpearl 04-22-2007 06:03 PM

^^^I am happy TIP had a good time in Krakow (gotta love that Soviet realism -- I'm glad Crazy Guides knows how to show it proper respect), and that my good friend Creepy Sheepie liked Roger's eyebrows.

But what I came to say is that grilled vege on a crusty roll with Tomme de Savoie and arugula....

Oh, SO happeeeee. Mmmmm. I wish I had two stomachs so that I could eat another one.

edit: Oh, and spending the weekend with my dad also gave me a happy. My dad rocks.
:D

I prefer to smear on a bit of quince paste.

Seeing a Trabant gave me a happy.

Shower lattes for late risers
April 22, 2007 11:13am

INVENTORS have created a soap infused with caffeine which is said to help users wake up in the morning.

Shower Shock supplies the caffeine equivalent of two cups of coffee per wash.

The scented stimulant is absorbed naturally through the skin, according to its manufacturers, who say it is designed for people who don't have enough time for a cup of coffee in the morning.

The soap is available on the internet.
