i just remembered another banafact that was NEW! to me quite recently although quite possibly this is old hat to you:

if you poke your index finger very gradually, slowly & gently starting at the exact centre of the top of a peeled banana and go towards the other end, it splits apart into three perfect segments in a most pleasing manner.

I did not know these particular facts about the lovely banana, and am pleased and grateful to now be able to pass these skills on to my friends and offspring.
