80's memoribibliblia bread

.

let us toast all things 80's in this bread

brightpearl 07-25-2007 04:32 PM

^That's impossible to top, ezra.
But here are a lot of guitarists with 80s guitarist hair.

I would like to specify that I never ever dated anyone that looked remotely like this.

Relish 07-27-2007 01:31 AM

I must say, these two look quite dashing!

Going to T.G.I.F. in their muscle car. They'll order cuba libres.

Jack Flanders 07-27-2007 01:38 AM

Jack Splat is proof that the Garbage Pail Kids were in fact high culture...what other form of kid entertainment makes references to the gesture painting movement ?

Have we covered neon?

What about jellies? I think I had a pair exactly like these.

Earthling 08-13-2007 08:27 PM

Microwave

Note; no turn table and no digital timer.

brightpearl 08-13-2007 09:04 PM

When I was a kid, we didn't have a microwave for long after absolutely everyone else did. (Actually, I don't have one now...) Once, when a friend of mine was over for lunch and found we didn't have one, she asked with totally innocent incredulity, "But how do you cook hot dogs?!?"

:D

You're going to hate me, but it is so worth it.

brightpearl 08-13-2007 09:09 PM

Best thing to come out of the 80s, easy. I couldn't find a good clip, but the style of the trailer is amusing in and of itself.

I wish I could have found the q-tip part. Or the you like raisins part. Or the "Fraunch" fries part.
*sigh*

Bjork is even better now.

Never have the drums been played in so listless a fashion.
I love it when the neon lights up "Suck."

brightpearl 09-02-2007 09:00 PM

Jimmy Fallon proves that the 80's were surprisingly homogenous.

MASH

Lyrics to the song 'Suicide is Painless'

Through early morning fog I see

visions of the things to be

the pains that are withheld for me

I realize and I can see...

[REFRAIN]:

that suicide is painless

It brings on many changes

and I can take or leave it if I please.

I try to find a way to make

all our little joys relate

without that ever-present hate

but now I know that it's too late, and...

[REFRAIN]

The game of life is hard to play

I'm gonna lose it anyway

The losing card I'll someday lay

so this is all I have to say.

[REFRAIN]

The only way to win is cheat

And lay it down before I'm beat

and to another give my seat

for that's the only painless feat.

[REFRAIN]

The sword of time will pierce our skins

It doesn't hurt when it begins

But as it works its way on in

The pain grows stronger...watch it grin, but...

[REFRAIN]

A brave man once requested me

to answer questions that are key

is it to be or not to be

and I replied 'oh why ask me?'

[REFRAIN]

'Cause suicide is painless

it brings on many changes

and I can take or leave it if I please.

...and you can do the same thing if you please
