broken heart

LeahDear 06-23-2006 12:45 PM

At least it wasn't your heart that was broken.. that would be worse

Zeismyhero 06-23-2006 01:11 PM

If you were honest, then you are living your truth.

Not many people can say they are doing that.

You have freed him to go out there and eventually love someone who can truly love him back.

And you have freed yourself to find someone more compatible to you.

You did the right thing for both of you.

dinzdale 06-23-2006 01:12 PM

Would you like some M & M's ?

lapietra 06-23-2006 01:59 PM

I'm with ZIMH - you freed each other up to find someone even better for both of you - he'll understand someday, and be grateful.
You done the right 'ting, toots.

In the meantime, avoid these movies:

When Harry Met Sally
Any movie with the word "Chocolate" in it, in any language
Most movies made before 1950

I recommend things like:
Any movie with Schwarzenegger in it
the "Rocky" films
the "Alien" films
Aw heck - just rent a bunch of violent sci-fi crap & you'll be okay. ;)

i'm sorry to say but the only thing that heals a broken heart is time and well maybe a great one night stand (just kidding).

feel better.

zenbabe 06-23-2006 04:58 PM

^^^^^^^ that going on a complete bender.

Avalon 06-23-2006 06:11 PM

Awww Surbhi, I am sorry honey.
As much as it hurts to have our own hearts broken, it is painful to realize that we, ourselves, have that power over someone else's heart. You were honest and that is what matters most. I hope you're feeling better now..atleast a little.

bealeblues 06-23-2006 06:20 PM

ordinarily i would agree with zennie on hitting a bender, but now that i'm finally out of my 4 year continuous bender, i'll just agree with rims.

Picture yourself thirty years from now, still with him and wondering how things might have gone if you'd only had the courage to do what you actually did now.
Hang in there!

Yes, yes. they will say all of these things and probably mean it at the time too. But time will pass and he will find some-one else more suited to him, he'll find a new worst fear, and he will be happy. He won't listen if you tell him any of this now but be comforted by the idea that what he is going through is temporary.

...and you will love again and one of those times, you'll find the love of your life - corny but true. Keep busy and hang out with friends.

I'm with RMR and PFP. The only thing I can add is, be around people who love you as often as you can. When you have talked and thought out all the details of your breakup, it's good to take your mind off your hurt by paying some attention to things that make you happy (in my case, my friends and their kids). It stops you from dwelling. When I broke up with my fiance', they saved me from going crazy.

Keep busy!

I'll say a little prayer for your achy-breaky-heart. :)
