i am enjoying an xmas holiday of 2 weeks   :)

so far, i've done the following:
  • laundry
  • bought xmas gifts
  • declogged the shower drain
  • refilled the central heating thing/boiler/furnace/whatever it's called with water because the pressure was low
  • rewired the bathroom electricity
i've got more rewiring planned for tomorrow. what exciting things are you doing this xmas holiday?

I believe I shall be starting a new job this Xmas holiday, after a month plus job hunt. Not getting hopes up because all jobs seem to suck these days, but some work is better than no work. At least it is in a field I have enjoyed working before.

I shall be:
-sending good job juju to several also out of work friends this season.
-spending xmas day with mother and that other person.
-snuggling my cat (shut it Marcus, that is not a metaphor).
-trying to stay warm on my boat.
-phoning friends since I'm way to disorganized to send cards (TYVM dear, you know who you are...PM a current # if you would like a call to :) )
-being thankful for the positive things in my life, and trying not to be too negative about the other stuff.

I'm going to have a happy holiday.
I'm planning to:
- read and re-read (Larsson, Pratchett, and some yet to be received for Christmas books)
- watch all James Bond movies then Shrek, Lion King, Ice Age, the Prince of Egypt etc.
- learn a bit of Russian every day
- visit my sister
- do a bit of cleaning
- go to the zoo (if the weather permits)
- cook and eat good things

I am judging the Dictionary Game :p

I am looking forward to washing the dog hair out of my bathrobe, and taking lights down from the front yard that were lit all year until they shorted out right as the holiday season started.

We are happily planning to do fwkall for xmas and new years. I have some presents to mail off at some point in the next week or so (deadline prioritization - DG gets judged before xmas gets posted). I have also received a few lovely cards from various corners of the globe, which I will answer in kind :)

¿are you a biter or a sucker?

(this is of course with specific regard to your hard candy eating technique. when you get or are given a piece of it and you pop it into your mouth, do you bite it or suck it...

or what?)

Frieda 12-31-2011 08:37 AM

bite

Coffee 12-31-2011 01:10 PM

Both

YsaPur EsChomuw 01-01-2012 11:26 AM

depends on the type of candy and momentary mood

some are sucked until they're ice thin then crushed by the tongue against the palate

those with some filling can be sucked a bit then crunched to get to the gooey goodiness

brightpearl 01-01-2012 07:25 PM

I chew unreservedly regardless of the type of sweet.

xfox 01-01-2012 07:26 PM

One piece of toffee is never enough. I savor it slowly, especially if it's chocolate covered.

mmmmm.

^The Russell Stovers chews assortment has this Roman nougat thing that I love beyond all reason. I simply cannot pace myself. It's pitiful, really. :D

i am reminded of occasions when i have given a piece of barleysugar or similar hard candy to lazy manfred. the sound of his mahoosive molars crunching up a lump of barleysugar is one of the best sounds in existence. should you ever encounter a horse at such time as you happen to have some hard candy in your pocket, i urge you to offer forth a piece of it in the palm of your hand and then stand back and enjoy the marvelous sounds that will ensue.

:)
