Sorry I missed the neighbor question - I live in the greatest neighborhood in the world and i love mine - I've got a documentary filmmaker, a kindergarten teacher, a publicist, two master gardeners, a chef, and a psychologist who's the mother of my daughter's best friend. Then there's Pete, who just lost his old golden retriever and is getting a new one, and Moon, the village character who does a lot of extreme sports and is always having something extraordinary happening to him, and then there's the beautiful lady up the street who gives the kids hot chocolate on snow days when the hill is full of sledders. All of them sweet, generous w/ time and talents, and trustworthy with my pets when we go out of town. When I lived in L.A., though, my neighbors were so awful I don't even want to think about them.
Okay. The horizon.
I've got to do something drastic about that, personally. And collectively, Coffee's dual scenarios are all too apt.
However, in the immediate future, I'm starting my new job mentoring traumatized kids in a series of two-week workshops - helping them to write a short play and then performing it for them with other professional actors. It combines a lot of things for me - working with troubled kids, writing, performing, and most importantly, helping someone to create a narrative from within themselves that can point them towards healing.
I'm also teaching a full schedule of after school acting classes for kids, and directing a children's play. And posting occasionally on zefrank with the most delightful people on the planet:)
