expressions and quotations
we all have favorite expressions and quotations (ive got many). feel free to share yours, as well as where you heard them, who wrote or said them...and anything else youd like to include.

"i cried because i had no shoes,
then i met a man who had no feet."

im not sure who wrote it, but i read it in shes come undone, by wally lamb.

"you cannot hold a torch to light anotherís path without brightening your own."

i heard this several years ago - not sure where - and from what i understand, mother teresa spoke those words.

p.s. i wasnt sure where to put this thread, but decided on good reading because memorable expressions and quotations certainly qualify as just that.
