Sonnet Attempt #2
The glowing coals of fireside warmth surround
each shadow dances chased ‘way by the flame
ascending embers, raised by heat unbound
create a burning my heart cannot tame
A warm and gentle hand upon my cheek
brings forth the flame of love from deep within
The flare consumes, my passion makes me weak
and in your flame I yield to fires of sin
I feel my lonely winter melt away
and Spring within unfolds to banish cold
Your body kiln to my soul's ready clay
Unfortunate, my love, thine love is old
Alas these flames and fire cannot renew
and tortured on this pyre I'll burn for you
