¿ what question should mo ask ?
|
¿ would you like to come lunar bowling with me ?
|
^If it is literally bowling on the lunar surface or by the light of the big ol' moon, yes.
If it is some sort of euphemism with which I am unfamiliar, I'll have to get back to you. :D |
Do you know of a bowling alley that will allow us to use a moon-sized bowling ball?
|
no, but the one mo posted^^^^^^^ looks pretty cool
|
well, then - you might like these too :)

"not all humans are able to wink voluntarily, and some can only wink one (usually the non-dominant) eye but not the other, while others are far better at winking one eye and find it awkward to wink the other. ¿ how can you wink - either eye/left eye only/right eye only/neither eye/SUHT UP etc. ? |
either eye - yes
left eye only -yes right eye only - yes neither eye - yes SUHT UP - yes |
I seem to be ambiwinkstrous but seem to have a mild preference for left eye winkage. I'm right-handed, though.
Does this mean I have a brain tumor? Perhaps that would explain why I cannot for the life of me figure out chemistry problem 15.27. |
^^&^ the pair of you wink at eachother and see if anything happens - i'm thinking you'll maybe cancel eachother out
|
How can you wink with neither eye?
|
^
*bows* |
I'm a both-winker
no preference for side qotd follow up: ¿ can you flare your nostrils ? |
not without revealing unseemly nostril hairs
|
yes I can. and I'm a both-winker. and I can raise one eyebrow but not the other. and can curl my tongue. and can snap the fingers of my left hand but not my right hand.
|
;) <
I am like Jack only except the finger snapping thing
no preference for eye winking as far as easiness but I am for sure right eyed. |
i can flare my nostrils, even only one at a time but then i have to wiggle the ear on that side too.
|
notstril-flaring, but only both sides at once
tongue-curling, the roll, not the cloverleaf and I can sort of raise both eyebrows, but I have to raise both and then lower the left one to get the right one up there. It's shy and won't go up alone. |
i can operate the serpent glands under my tongue to spray up to 110 cm.
|
nostril flaring -- yes, but I need to (1) concentrate or (2) get the right input for spontaneous (--> collegues are very suitable there)
nostril flaring tongue roller, both roll & cloverleaf eyebrows difficult to raise singly ear wiggling impossible snake glands under tongue need investigation and lately I found out that I can indeed fold my hands behind my back like Pearly once demonstrated/asked here |
blank yet wearisome expression conveying a profound disinterest - check.
|
^really? if we could collect video of all of this bizarre facial talent and edit it together I think we'd have a youtube hit.
...point taken :p |
¿ question of the day ?
¿ question of the day ? ¿ question of the day ? ¿ question of the day ? ¿ question of the day ? ¿ wind chimes: are you a fan of them? |
wind chimes belong in "our subtle torments in hell" thread.
|
mine are going to make "the sounds of subtle and pleasing" - it says so on the box!
|
No the wind does it
................but I do like Ze Franks new tee |
well i've been outside and hung them quite high up in my tree :)
but there's no wind:( so i'll have to wait until there is before i can hear the sounds of subtle and pleasing i'm going back outside to watch them some more before it gets dark - then when it's dark i'll just have to listen! |
i have a small one, a glass butterfly with metal rods, on the inside of my balcony door.. if the door's open and the wind blows past it it makes a high, gentle and calming sound. like an angel pissing in your ears.
ok that doesn't translate very well from dutch into english  so yes, i am a fan, yes, of subtle ones. |
i checked and it definitely says on the box "the sound of subtle and pleasing" not PISSING!
aunt frieda prolly meant angels tinkling in her ears - that's sort of the same still no wind. i'm just watching my wind chime with a torch - it's just hanging there! it's going to be a long night |
^eat some beans to speed it up
and aunt frieda does mean pissing, we say pissing in dutch alsof er een engeltje in je oor piest there's also a variation-- if something tastes nice, there's an angel pissing on your tongue. |
aunt frieda you look so beautiful and radiant this evening... an angel must be pissing in my eyes!
|
wow, angel piss - that's potent stuff
upon reflection, I realize now that we inherited windchimes with both of the houses we've bought in the past 4 years (and sold one with said windchimes still in original position). the ones we have here don't make the sound of subtle and pleasing - unless it's blowing like stink - then I guess they make the sound of urgent and scary |
My windchimes are a rusted black cylinder with little bats hanging in, and tiny chimey tubes hanging down.
I've always liked windchimes (prefer tone-y to tinkly), but I've loved them ever since my son was bitty, and I happened to be looking at his noob face the very first time he ever heard that sound. His eyes got really big. One of the funniest and most poignant moments of my life. |
^ Kodak moment:)
yes wind chimes, lots of them it's very windy here neighbors have them too |
The marina makes wind songs playing on the rigging and ropes...i've learned to like that random symphony, as long as halyards aren't slapping against masts.
|
There is a chinese gri-gri hanging from the ceiling in the money corner of my room. It looks like a horizontal dreamcatcher with little coins hanging off of it. It makes sounds like a wind chime, but I only notice it when I'm sitting very quietly.
I love the sound that it makes. :) |
Just took down the wind chimes last weekend and put them in storage; they are too delicate for what's to come. I'm sorry that I can't tell you if I like them or not. They are another thing I tend to. They dangle at one of the entrances to the patio, a few feet across from the foot of my chaise longue (a Mother's Day gift). A couple of times a year I stretch out on it in the shade and fall asleep to their tune.

5.01, 3.59, and 3.22 for an average average of 3.94.
I found I did better if I made the 'right angle' more acute than I thought it should be. |
average score was 3.68 - my triangle center sucked but the right angle, bisect the angle and center of the circle were dead on. good game, trish!!
