The rails are too high and they look uncomfortable.
Also the people in the middle will have trouble reaching them.

It's also a bit disconcerting to have the stairs empty out onto what appears to be the hood of a humongous Buick...

When about to be mugged in the bowels of a NYC subway, always run to the right as subject marked 3 has done, NOT the left, to escape.

Oh - and if you're wearing very full skirts they might get caught between the rails. You know, like, with crinoline.

Plus the dark stairwell at the foot of the the upper stairs looks like the entrance to hell. You might want to consider relocating the upper stairs. As you can see by figure 3's posture, it looks as if he's running like hell to get away from the dark abyss that looms just before him.

Descending from murky darkness to surgically bright light is disconcerting.

Put a slide in for these guys; maybe a nice twisty one.

Good God this scared the crap outta me :eek:

When I was about 6yrs old, I had my tonsils out (back when they kept you in the hosp. a couple days). When the operation was done and a nurse was waking me from the anesthsia... "It's all over honey, time to wake up..." Due to my still half drugged state,the nurse looked like a man in make up, dressed as a woman. I'm pretty sure it was this guy in the picture :eek:

Every woman's worst nightmare (most anyhow)... alone, no choice but to endure a dark, creepy staircase like this one. Only to reach the door that leads to an even scarier parking garage to finally achieve the safety of your car. Hyper-alert, all senses heighten...heart beating like a drum, barely breathing so that breath doesn't interfere with acute hearing, bigger than life don't-fvck-with-me posture assumed, plans for defense primed, keys positioned in fist as weapon if necessary, quiet cat like movement.
