^ swooning with curiosity and desire

please report!

Frieda 06-11-2010 07:41 PM

vuvuzelas SUCK!

they sound like an angry swarm of bees!

lukkucairi 06-15-2010 01:07 PM

I am on week 2 with a personal trainer.

I think I might be getting in shape, but oh, the pain! :p

YsaPur EsChomuw 06-15-2010 01:21 PM

^ congratulations! :D

lukkucairi 06-15-2010 01:25 PM

oh, and we had an oil spill in Salt Lake City

yeugh

YsaPur EsChomuw 06-15-2010 01:29 PM

^ so sad, so very bad :(
Even if 70 per cent has been cleaned up, it still affects nature, animals, people.

Frieda 06-15-2010 06:16 PM

i have a new bed! :)

brightpearl 06-15-2010 06:47 PM

^Aren't beds awesome? :D
Did you buy a new bedspread? I found a raw silk one last year, on clearance for 30 bucks or something, and I am still totally enamored of it.

Frieda 06-16-2010 03:12 PM

^ ooh silk is lovely for a bedspread.. also for duvet covers! lovely and soft :)

i don't have one yet.. i never seem to have a good place to store it when i'm actually in bed. how do you do that?

YsaPur EsChomuw 06-16-2010 04:06 PM

I have a laundry basket and I put the bedspread on top of it before I go to sleep.

Frieda 06-16-2010 04:34 PM

oh, that's useful. i have the laundry baskets in the bathroom.. pretty much all that's in my bedroom is a bed, a high drawer cabinet, some built-in wardrobe closets and the laundry rack.. but that's already got laundry on it, usually. hmm.

brightpearl 06-16-2010 05:21 PM

Ooops, American English of the southern states is sort of casual about the use of the word "bedspread." :D Mine is actually a duvet cover. Silk on top, cotton on the bottom, so I leave it on the bed over the sheet when I'm sleeping.

brightpearl 06-17-2010 09:59 AM

I have a new purple phone. It is slidey-open instead of flippy-open and I certainly hope this will turn out to be a fortuitous consumer choice.

Marcus Bales 06-18-2010 12:02 PM

Brynn has won this round of The Dictionary Game

lukkucairi 06-18-2010 05:31 PM

today! today! today, life is VERY VERY good! :D

brightpearl 06-18-2010 05:36 PM

do tell?

brightpearl 06-18-2010 05:41 PM

Wait, maybe it would be more fun to guess...

Dread Pirate Roberts sent you a love letter?
You got new socks?
The cookies came out not too crunchy and not too chewy...just perfect?

Or oh oh oh, I know! It's the one day a year when the rare Teal Dimpled Salt Lake jellyfish makes its way onto shore to lay eggs!!

lukkucairi 06-18-2010 05:51 PM

Stormy skies finally cleared off, let's say...

...part of this is the relief and resolution of years of chronic unhappiness - I resolved in 2007 that I didn't want to live in that personal hell any more, and threw myself into a huge amount of therapy both mental and physical. Here we are in mid-2010 and it's finally a Brand New Day. No antidepressants neither. Just brute-force figuring out what the hell my life was all about, and getting OK with it :)

...part of it is that it's spring, and 3.5 years of intermittent allergy shots actually really have decreased my hay-fever misery to tolerable levels :p

...part of it is that after starting with a personal trainer at the gym my fitness level is beginning to show an upward trend :o

...part of it is that I'm listening to the Jackson 5 :D really :D

lukkucairi 06-18-2010 05:52 PM

^^ and dammit yes, it was the jellyfish eggs too!

how'd you ever guess? :o

Odbe 06-19-2010 06:01 AM

Bacon cookies were Very Interesting! The recipe needs some tweaking though, they were an acquired taste.

Marcus Bales 06-19-2010 10:24 AM

What the world needs now is blueberry bacon muffins.

MoJoRiSin 06-19-2010 03:05 PM

There is every possibility that Adam is the mother of us and that king David was actually a woman and his wives were
"husbands" that is the only thing that could possible make sense to mo

Stephi_B 06-25-2010 09:42 AM

....well, so the army likes my degrees much much and all that, but they have no more money to employ anybody in their shopping-for-cool-weaponry-and-fiddling-around-with-it-er....-testing-and-improving-it dep't....

so i keep on applying for all kinds of stuff, teaching, research, whatnot, and i hope my very lovely favourite head-mistress can raise enough money for me at my very lovely favourite school (besides project #1 which is giving math lessons, extra hours in everything and restructuring the biology/chemistry/a-bit-of-physics-and-math-hidden-there-in-the-corner, i have now a project #2 there which consists of roaming the endless corridors in the search of teacherless groups of kids/classes and writing them up - to see which teachers are missing, which kids turn up at all and that - and trying to motivate them to do logic training and riddles with me or at least trying to motivate them to go peacefully and quite downstairs to the mensa - initially that was a really really tough job , but meanwhile i get some respect there in the 8th and 9th graders' zone and some of the 7th grade girls are sometimes joining me a bit on my rounds chatting with me :), the 10th graders are my homies anyway ;)

yeah and i'm still all mmmmmmmh :) with my boy, he'll be outta berlin now for 5 weeks, but i'll survive somehow i figure ;)

Frieda 06-25-2010 06:03 PM

^don't the germanies have a CSI department that requires a physics / chemistry degree you can use your brain matter in?

Frieda 06-25-2010 06:08 PM

Das Kriminaltechnische Institut
ist eine von 9 Abteilungen des Bundeskriminalamtes.

beschäftigt derzeit ca. 300 Mitarbeiterinnen/Mitarbeiter, darunter Chemiker, Physiker, Biologen, Ingenieure, Phonetiker, Psychologen, Kriminalbeamte, Mineralogen, IT-Spezialisten, Elektroniker, Techniker, technische Assistenten und Laboranten, die interdisziplinär zusammenarbeiten.

Stephi_B 06-26-2010 08:52 AM

^same thing, the bka has a hiring stop too. the only state sectors spared so far by the govt are education and research (not that they have that much budget anyway, but at least they still hire ppl)

YsaPur EsChomuw 06-26-2010 08:58 AM

^ the whole world is grinding into a halt, so it seems.
My sister has been made redundant, together with quite a number of others - she worked at the university doing some research in the field of physics.

Frieda 06-26-2010 12:33 PM

^ & ^^ sorry to hear that..

maybe all the unemployed chemists / phycicsicsisctstscts can team up and find a way to get rid of all the oil in the mexican gulf?

lukkucairi 06-26-2010 01:55 PM

^ quite possibly, seems like there'll be quite a future economy in abatement and remediation of this kind of thing.

even if we quit doing this stupid stuff, there's plenty of work to go around from picking up the debris of the 20th century.

good luck to all finding jobs - any electronics engineers out there looking to collaborate on some LED art?

Marcus Bales 06-27-2010 10:50 AM

Brynn is the FIRST EVER winner of BOTH the Dictionary Game and the Yranoitcid Emag at the same time!

Odbe 06-29-2010 01:54 AM

I took a photo yesterday and I want to share it with you all:

Frieda 06-29-2010 02:53 PM

^ooooooo magical! :)

may please steal it for a mobile phone background image?

Odbe 06-29-2010 11:25 PM

no worries mate! :)

lukkucairi 07-01-2010 03:50 PM

^^^ amazing amazing amazing :D thanks for sharing!

brightpearl 07-01-2010 04:27 PM

^It really is lovely. Is it a stork or a pelican or something? I suppose Odbe is in the best position to know...
You need to draw that up, girl, by the way. :)

Odbe 07-05-2010 08:35 AM

It's a pelican but I think it looks like a phoenix. Pearl, I'll get my pencils out and see what I can do :)

Frieda 07-07-2010 03:22 AM

we're in the final! woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! :D :D :D

Frieda 07-19-2010 01:33 PM

Brynn 07-19-2010 11:57 PM
