?? plain omelette with black beans and salsa ??

the truth is....
I prefer eating lunch twice

Odbe 01-29-2010 04:15 AM

When I first wake up I'm like a zombie so I eat the closest thing to brains I can get, which is soggy weetbix or scrambled eggs.

madasacutsnake 01-29-2010 06:48 AM

Soggy Weetbix here too. Absolutely NO crunchy bits. Or toast with cream cheese and tomato.

brightpearl 01-29-2010 11:42 AM

Coffee
1% milk
Seinfeldian preoccupation with breakfast cereals

Coffee 01-29-2010 12:23 PM

Coffee, maybe instant oatmeal if i bother.

Marcus Bales 01-29-2010 12:55 PM

Usually I have two lunches, too -- this morning bean soup with ham, but that seemed a little light, so I scrambled some eggs, too. Iced tea.

Frieda 01-29-2010 05:25 PM

2 slices of brown bread with cheese, 1 antihistamin tablet, 1000mg of vitamin C, 600mg acetylcysteine and 2 glasses of water to push it all through the oesophagus.

during weekends another slice of bread with bio-honey.

Stephi_B 01-29-2010 09:54 PM

there were times when i had a definite breakfast tradition: there was the (long-lasting) milk+cereals ritual, the wild coffee+ciggie times, the spartanic apple+glass of milk thing, the croissant meets jam ness and many cafes au lait and blue gauloises orgies, the plain coffee+bread-with-something-on-it times, and very recently the healthy joghurt with honey and some nuts/seeds.... and then there are the totally unforseeable periods of my breakfast life (just living one) where breakfast ranges from nothing or an apple and two brazil nuts on the jump, from something (a sweet piece and some cup o'caffein) i buy at the subway station to instant asian noodle soup, from just a bottle of club mate to be awake and "fluid" ;) to early lunch at the mensa, or, when i get the vitamin yeeper a 1l bottle fruit juice boost....

new question of the day ?

What's the best smell in the whole world?

Frieda 01-30-2010 10:05 PM

bread when its baking in the oven! or strawberries. or coffee, when you really need a cup.

lukkucairi 01-31-2010 12:46 AM

niman ranch bacon

Brynn 01-31-2010 02:23 AM

When you're out in the woods walking past a cedar tree and suddenly the air smells like potpurri. Usually just a whiff and then it's gone.

zero 01-31-2010 03:28 PM

noyn

brightpearl 01-31-2010 09:09 PM

the top of my son's head, when he's just fallen asleep

madasacutsnake 02-03-2010 05:54 AM

Fresh midnight air, smelled when you are leaving the nursing home after a long nine hours.

lukkucairi 02-03-2010 11:29 AM

playa dust rising unexpectedly from last year's furs

fresh air at the top of the canyon road in the middle of winter

a dead christmas tree on the compost heap

cooking chocolate fudge

a fresh sour-orange, cut in half

lukkucairi 02-03-2010 11:33 AM

NEW!

WHAT is your QUEST ?

Marcus Bales 02-03-2010 02:39 PM

To follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.

madasacutsnake 02-05-2010 07:32 PM

To run where the brave dare not go;
To right the unrightable wrong

To fight for the right
Without question or pause,
To be willing to march into hell
For a heavenly cause!

I believe in these things to a fault.

brightpearl 02-05-2010 07:58 PM

New QOD:

When did the electric last go out and for how long and what inconvenience resulted?

Odbe 02-08-2010 05:13 AM

It flickered off and on the other day while everyone was out.

It happens occasionally while we're asleep. The only indication I have of it is that the display on the digital clock in the kitchen is flashing.

when the hose of my dishwasher decided to unhose itself from the siphon, leaked into the power socket and blew out the RCD, about a year ago, at 2 am on a weekday. i called my dad to fix it, which he did and that was nice.

brightpearl 02-08-2010 06:30 PM

oh, blinky blinky-resets,
get a candle and matches,
always worry a bit about the things in the freezer,
but no real harm done even when it's hours

zero 02-08-2010 06:35 PM

the electric went out with the greengrocer last summer. their date lasted for exactly 3weeks, 6hours and 12minutes, resulting in aplenty an inconvenience when the eclectic's wife brenda found oot!

trisherina 02-09-2010 02:48 AM

It was one of those -45C days in December, and the furnace needs the electric. Took an hour and a bit. We were not cold as we simply donned our muskrat coverlets and rough moccasins, and lit a fire.

Jack Flanders 02-09-2010 03:50 PM

How WEIRD that this ? should have come up this week. Early this morning at 1:30 am as I was convincing myself to haul my butt to bed, the power went off. I was still on the computer so was was really annoyed that the decision had been made for me by my electric company. Luckily I had a flashlight right next my desk so I didn't have to bounce off the walls looking for the doorways. The power returned at 4:30 am.

xfox 02-10-2010 01:02 AM

For the survey: My power went out the other night and came on within 10 seconds, which prompted the question. No trouble.

Next question?

Odbe 02-10-2010 02:19 AM

^That one.

trisherina 02-10-2010 03:44 AM

some sort of question of the day ?

What does a puppy dream?

zero 02-10-2010 10:38 AM

hameye ma dar barkhord ba gozashte chenin raftar mikonim, sagha va adamha

MoJoRiSin 02-10-2010 01:38 PM

(in black and white of course)

xfox 02-11-2010 06:39 PM

puppies probably dream of warm, soft, furry things, like other puppies. I think zero's post was spot on.
