i've been known to do a bit of groundskeeping. i'm willing to trim the hedges and do a little edging work, but i fail to see the point in stripping the green entirely.

for ¿ question of the wednesday ? you are required to rate yourself on a scale of 1 - 10 |

i shall not answer on the grounds that it will make people think i'm deranged.
|
![]() Of course, it can go down to 0 at times too. |

no :) |
If 10 be the top, then Stephie bump your number up 2 1/2 points. Sometimes our actions or self esteem may hit a low born out of ego and or fear but we are all born 10's and there are no permanent demerits. Not even for my spelling testicles wrong in the Dictionary game.
|
^thank you that was in fact quite profound

then maybe you can ask someone to rate you (or even just some part of you) on your behalf? (not looking at anyone in particular ![]() |
why would i want to do that?
|
becuase you're modest!!
 anyway i can't do any rating just now - can you not see i'm busy eating my fish'n'chips? |
do you want some ointment for your lip?
|
yes i do
it so happens i lacerated my lip a few days ago in an accident with a foil blisterpak of NEW! trident SPLASH raspberry & peach flavour chewing gum and now the salt'n'vinegar of my fish'n'chips is getting in there and causing terrible pain OW OUCH OOOYAYH!! POOR ME! |
abandoned in my hour of need

¿ question of the day ? for april 3:
do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert, and would your friends and family agree with your self-assesssment? |
:o
|
Both, depending on situation and mood.
Those who know me in many different situations and moods would probably agree. Generally my extrovertness has increased dramatically since I was a child (very introvert, shy, low self-esteem - the whole programme). |
introvert. i make a lot of noise just to mask what's really on my mind.
|
i would call myself an introvert, the way meyers briggs defines it. but 99% of everyone i know would completely disagree.
|
^I didn't know these Meyers Briggs types till now (interesting!!),
still I'd say I'm both according to these definitions, because my inside action depends on what happens outside and vice versa, sometimes starting with acting, other times with reflecting - but actually in the major turning points in my life I've acted more extrovert. |
i just need a little alone time, ok?
|
I was an extroverted little kid, and an introvert from ages 11 to 24, and now I'm an extrovert again.
being an extrovert is funner, but it can get you into trouble. being an introvert is in some ways easier, but people sometimes interpret your quietness as snobbery. I meet a lot of people who are introverts in person and extroverts on the internet and vice versa. |
I'm an introvert, but most of my friends believe me to be an extrovert..kinda like what Auntie meant, I think.
|
^ explain a little more - I was under the impression that introversion/extroversion is a function of how you interact with others, not necessarily how you feel about interacting with others. Am I off base?
|
introversion and extroversion have more to do with how you feel, where you draw energy from. an example:
say you went to a party and lots of people were there. would you leave the party feeling energized and ready to find an after-party destination to keep the fun going? or would you scramble for the car so you could have a moment of peace to collect your thoughts? it has nothing to do with whether you were able to interact and enjoy yourself at the party. it's whether you draw your energy from being extroverted or introverted. that's why pearly and i both said our friends would disagree. if she's like me, she needs her alone time far more than she needs her people time. but she's good at people time so the people she spends time with assume that's what energizes her. |
hm - makes sense
I do need my alone time, but I don't get energized by it like I do by people time. People time is sometimes overwhelming, yeah, but if I don't get out and see people (either at work or play) I stagnate and that feels awful to me - so I suppose by that definition too I'm an extrovert. |
extrovert with friends only, and I'm kind of cautious nowadays about who sees that side of me. Except here, I guess.
In a corporate work situation, I prefer to be invisible and take mental notes for an imaginary screenplay - it helps me to cope and keeps my mind occupied. At lunchtime, I'll interact, but really only as an interviewer. People of a certain mindset have a shocking lack of curiosity about others and will go on for ten minutes about something their dog did. Asking questions keeps me from appearing shy and gives me the illusion of a sense of control, but in reality I often feel trapped by my own tactics and want to chew my arm off after a while. |
^ ME TOO!!:D |
^^ consummate extrovert
|
i'll just about talk to anyone in any situation, so i would normally qualify as a die-hard extrovert.
however if I am to follow A'ntie's definition I am definitely an introvert. I get my energy from being alone. Social interaction is a large part of my life but I find it exhausting. |
I guess you could ask yourself what's worse: being shut in solitary confinement for a week, or being stuck in a big crowd of people for a week - both are pretty unpleasant :p
