Yes, they have to be alive -- otherwise there's just nf hope, is there?

lukkucairi 12-03-2007 01:23 PM

Oliver Sacks

T.I.P. 12-03-2007 01:50 PM

Terry Pratchett, Bill Murray, Aphex Twin, Lou Reed, Steve Buscemi, Jamie Lee Curtis

Frieda 12-03-2007 01:59 PM

ooh yes

oliver sachs and terry pratchett

i'd like mr sachs to investigate my weird disappearing leg and mr pratchett to make me laugh my broccoli off

read the latest pratchett yet, tippy?

brightpearl 12-03-2007 02:04 PM

^dang, my list is getting longer now that I've seen everyone else's. Surely Jaime Lee counts as one of the Pythons in an honorary sense, though, given that she made out like a mad bunny with both Michael Palin and John Cleese.

zero 12-03-2007 02:47 PM

you'd have to go through Barney, and he's a slightly disturbed (and disturbing) ex-football player...

(or did someone already mention that in the other thread??)

New kvetchion of the day:

What's the kindest thing you did all year to date?

(Santa reads this thread)

daverbee 12-04-2007 10:29 AM

Too many to list here.

trisherina 12-04-2007 10:41 AM

1. stole cookies from a girl scout
2. moved a grape before someone stepped on it

Stephi_B 12-04-2007 02:18 PM

Dunno, am quite kind (some people say too kind) in general... plus one would better ask the people I was / tried to be kind to, because at times the outcome / perception of my kindness at the receiving end is different to my intention.

Frieda 12-04-2007 02:23 PM

um??

lukkucairi 12-04-2007 06:08 PM

gave trish a big fuzzy HUG :D

topcat 12-05-2007 04:08 AM

trish, i think you got your answer.

madasacutsnake 12-05-2007 07:56 AM

It's probably not that kind if you're getting paid to do it but.....I made two old ladies cups of tea. And then I watched while they did a tandem grateful sip. :)

brightpearl 12-05-2007 08:57 AM

^You might be mad, mads, but you rack up serious good karma all the time. There aren't very many people who can be good at your job.

brightpearl 12-05-2007 09:14 AM

Awrighty, new q for Wed the 5th

What's something you like that doesn't jibe well with the rest of your persona, something your friends are surprised you like? Don't be shy. I know someone on here owns all the Britney Spears albums.

I'll bet it's Brynn.

Stephi_B 12-05-2007 09:49 AM

Woah, that's a hard question, my interests/likings have no certain line so I couldn't say one really sticks out somehow.
But I confess here openly and quite ashamed that I been on a Take That concert in '94 :o but I still think Robbie Williams tremendously hot :D

Marcus Bales 12-05-2007 10:40 AM

I like country and western music

T.I.P. 12-05-2007 10:58 AM

i watched seasons 1, 2 & 3 of desperate housewives

brightpearl 12-05-2007 11:17 AM

^you once threatened me with ninjas if I revealed that on this board. :D

I like to watch golf. :o

lukkucairi 12-05-2007 12:24 PM

OK, I do like Britney, but unfortunately I don't have all her albums so I'll have to defer to Brynn :p

I also know all the words to 'Run To The Hills' by Iron Maiden. We should sing a duet sometime, Beryl.

brightpearl 12-05-2007 12:30 PM

^you know, we should. I'll do my best to make it to Utah soon and we'll record it for posterity. And then Mik can put it on Space Adventure.

Me too :) not so worse as a guy (hetero&married) from our work group who always went home at 5.30 pm on Tuesdays to have time for mental preparation. My ex-roommate Vanya (hetero&married likewise) can't stand DHW, he's a Sex and the City devotee :D

Frieda 12-05-2007 01:14 PM

well, i like gardening.

most people think i'm really weird and therefore do weird stuff like walking around with a transformer helmet or being able to quote from all series of star trek or eat mandarins all day, or play air guitar on my crutch and do a silly dance, or beat everybody in a car drag race, or sing the llama song..

i do that too. AND i like gardening :)

"Toxic" never fails to get the girls dancing in a party. And in my experience, when the girls start dancing, the guys follow.

Incidentally, anyone who's been to a french party knows that the french can't dance to save their life, unless they have taken formal salsa or rock n' roll classes. Americans are way more eccentric in their dance styles - don't be surprised if you are invited to a french party and you find the dance styles boring.

I'm a freakishly good baker.

Based on my appearance and personality, people generally assume that I have a refrigerator filled with ketchup packets and old pizza boxes and that my kitchen is outfitted with only a microwave and a stack of paper plates, when in fact I have two Kitchenaid mixers and enough assorted bake-ware to start a small pastry shop.

brightpearl 12-05-2007 05:04 PM

^oooh, I like baking too. 'Specially bread. Food is a big part of my life, so it's not really out of character for me, tho'.

and btw TIP as long as there is Tomme de Savoie at this party, I will endure any manner of boring dancing.
