(psst! just wait 'til they start kicking your bladder!)

brightpearl 04-13-2008 12:15 AM

(kick, nothing...those little dudes grab and twist!)

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-13-2008 12:42 AM

a) blood

b) it is crammed with various feelings of various intensity

c) how would I know? I haven't seen it yet. Maybe it doesn't even exist, just a conspiracy of artists and scientists, going back to Leonardo's time...

T.I.P. 04-13-2008 03:14 AM

a bemused smile

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-13-2008 03:42 AM

Sunday, question of the day ?

Have you ever experienced this funny feeling that you've become an actual adult?

If yes, when and how?

Frieda 04-13-2008 05:39 AM

saturday: the whole fwking universe is in there. and blood, of course.

sunday: yes. a couple of years ago i went to the pub i used to frequent when i was 17 and it was still filled with 17 year olds. they were all so young.

Stephi_B 04-13-2008 07:35 AM

Am I an actual adult yet? Dunno  (And do I want to be that at all? Mmh... Gotta think that over the next one, two decades ;))

But the first time I felt sort of senior was either when a former maths student adressed me with "Sie" and "Frau B." this Friday evening, and then asked me whether I've already got my title cos it being almost 3 years ago I taught them in the excercises (woah! 3 years! feels like yesterday...).
Or on one Sunday or the other when my baby sis called me, in one of her cheeky moods ;), "a real grown-up" (but at least I fall in the cool category for her just like her mom (she'll be 51 this year) :D And she is totally cool! They have this girl commune household, borrowing each others clothes, make-up shoes, partying together, telling each other about funny stuff when they come home from partying, discussing the guys etc - I wanna be a grown-up like my stepmom when I'm a grown-up :))

Anna 04-13-2008 10:40 AM

only in an emergency

when your parents start behaving like children.

auntie aubrey 04-13-2008 11:29 AM

i think it happened today when i turned on nickelodeon for the first time in ages, saw a commercial that i felt was inappropriate for kids, and said to the spouse, "our kids are not watching that crap."

at that moment i not only became an adult, i became old.

lukkucairi 04-13-2008 12:34 PM

saturday: an ice ax, a boxing glove, a bunch of daisies, and a roll of dental floss.

sunday: when I arranged to be wed in the church of a religion I don't believe in, simply because it would make my mother very happy.

Stephi_B 04-14-2008 12:01 PM

New Q:
What's your spice ?

me: ginger and crazy ideas

auntie aubrey 04-14-2008 12:15 PM

ceylon cinnamon. not as special as china cassia; unique, complex and less sweet than expected.

Frieda 04-14-2008 12:22 PM

it used to be WEED

i guess it's basil-- strong, sweet and thrives in summer

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-14-2008 01:11 PM

chili, lots of it

12"razormix 04-14-2008 01:24 PM

i'm with ysapur!
also, galangal

Stephi_B 04-14-2008 02:08 PM

(btw, can also be something that spices your life outside the culinary sector ;))

lukkucairi 04-14-2008 10:45 PM

bird pepper and flammable sculpture

new rule: no explaining the question!

T.I.P. 04-14-2008 11:41 PM

mine would have to be "poivre 5 baies" - mixed peppercorns

makes everything so delicious

Brynn 04-14-2008 11:56 PM

salt and light

brightpearl 04-15-2008 01:17 AM

cilantro...absolutely necessary for Indian, Thai, and Mexican cuisine, and therefore without it I'm nothing

topcat 04-15-2008 01:39 AM

Jack Flanders 04-15-2008 02:06 AM

scary ...and cumin oh and lots of mixed pepper

zero 04-15-2008 03:51 AM

tell me where is gandalf? for i much desire to speak with him

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-15-2008 05:34 AM

There have been rumours that he's opened a tattoo studio in Croatia, tattooing elvish swearwords on chosen body parts.

Stephi_B 04-15-2008 07:28 AM

^Ysa speaks true and when he's not working he's cruising round the mystical Balkans with his bike,
looksee here:

good work

auntie aubrey 04-15-2008 09:19 AM

i'm afraid he's quite unavailable right now, he's dealing with an urgent message delivered by legolas earlier today.

lukkucairi 04-15-2008 09:44 AM

AA cancelled his flight - he's stuck in Denver airport, obviously

brightpearl 04-15-2008 11:09 AM

Your mind itself is Gandalf. Do not look beyond it for him.

good work

i forgot to mention that today's question of the day ? is in two parts. ^that part was just some silly fun-having

now for the serious part:
what's taters ?

Stephi_B 04-15-2008 11:46 AM

They are made up from taterinos which come in various flavours: mashed, salt&buttered, stewey, crispy, chipsy, pancakey, filled...

zero 04-15-2008 11:55 AM

^nice try but we both know you lifted that sentence straight out of your thesis

Stephi_B 04-15-2008 12:08 PM

^Sorry, it was too tempting to just c&p ;)

OK: Taters are a friendly tribe, living beyond 8 hills and 3 rivers from where you stand at the moment, they tame and ride rubber ducks and speak a language consisting only of vowels and are thus not happy about the name they were given by the adventurer T. A. T. Ers who was almost run over by a rubber duck when he crossed the river in 1713.

auntie aubrey 04-15-2008 12:15 PM

taters, precious, is the colloquial name for a rather delightful flavor of cajun spiced chips.

they're called

YsaPur EsChomuw 04-15-2008 12:25 PM

Oh, and I thought it referred to the Tator family, who, like the Medicis in Italy, have always had important behind-the-scenes political influence in the Americas. Dick has some interests in Venezuela, but - so I've heard - his power and vews are seeping into other countries as well.

zero, what's the question of the hour?
