Jim-Bob tried to pass the eggshells on the front path off as hachure from the unruly hens but his mom could tell they were from his sloppy attempt to take the garbage out; she punished him accordingly.

hachure n (from hatch + urea)

The briny dusty composite residue that builds up in the tight spots around the edges and seams of seacraft hatches. Hachure can promote rotting of timbers of wooden vessels, as well as binding hatches and wicking in of water in all craft if not cleaned out regularly.

Damn yer eyes ye scurvy dogs if ye fergets to swab out the hachure agin it's thar plank ye'll be walkin...arrrr.
