^ claymore-cam is the best

for me, I prefer something a little more colorful:

brightpearl 03-11-2008 03:47 PM

I like to wear this when I wanna pretend to be a grownup

but otherwise I worship at the temple of Our Lady of Perpetual Jeans

(this photo was known as "invisible donut" over on the ORG...)

thursday march 13th's question of the day?
please may you post your favorite outfit from here --> and give a short description of how you feel towards it?

brightpearl 03-13-2008 09:42 AM

I would totally wear these.

But not with sandals.

So my favorite as-is outfit is this one:

The stripes on the chairs and the shirt juxtapose the post-industrial ennui of 20th century Western society with the carefree sexual mores depicted in the dots on the carpet. The foreshortened knees of both the man and the nude portrait express the fundamental human desire for inclusion and affordable donuts, while the books lay the hedonism of the intellect firmly in the background. But I am struck most of all by the subject's beret and argyle, flaunting both his French heritage and man's archetypal yearning to be perceived as Scottish.

auntie aubrey 03-13-2008 09:49 AM

i feel a certain fundamental irony in this image, as our besocked/besandaled friend poses with "the noid." the characters famous tagline is, of course, "avoid the noid," and our friend seems to be experiencing the onset of the irony as perhaps he realizes that his socks/sandals combo should be equally aversive, and yet somehow he's managed to embrace both.

Stephi_B 03-13-2008 11:31 AM

My feelings: Pure and simple - Cool Britannia! and...

!

;)

PS: I forgot my beloved leather jacket in the last q... was thinking in summer terms yet.

YsaPur EsChomuw 03-13-2008 12:53 PM

I feel a little bit dizzy after looking at so many socks.

This one, because I'm a member of the Equal Rights for Toes movement, which dictates you have to give your toes enough space and possibilities to freely express their individuality.

This one is not bad either, although it belongs to the fans of a different movement. But it's surprising enough to be likeable.

And finally, this indecisive decision truly reflects the state of my mind at the moment.

T.I.P. 03-13-2008 08:09 PM

I choose this one.

It is impossible to know if this banana toting elder is standing in front of the shop because he is preparing to nourish his foot fetish as soon as he has finished eating his yellow fruit, or if he is simply waiting for his friend Ernie to go play checkers next door and thinking "what on earth is taking him so long I just hate waiting for that idiot he is always so late ".

lukkucairi 03-13-2008 10:53 PM

because I have always wanted to be a gay man

and this couple is soooo "cage aux folles"

I love the meticulously rolled and folded cuff of the mustachio's jeans

and the teddy bears that accompany them on the daybed

wonder what they won all those ribbons for?

plus the cat in the lampshade collar provides a nice visual punctuation

auntie aubrey 03-13-2008 11:32 PM

^ i will never stop laughing at that picture. the longer i look at it, the harder i laugh. it's killing me.

trisherina 03-14-2008 12:24 AM

I relate strongly to this man.

Sorry if that is too short a description, but when you think hard about it, it's really not.

Jack Flanders 03-14-2008 01:42 AM

Ready for the next flood!!!

Earthling 03-14-2008 04:26 AM

question of the day ? March 14th...

When is the last time you;
A. Had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
B. Had an enema?
C. Pee'd in the pool?
*details are encouraged...in fact, I'm taking notes*

Frieda 03-14-2008 04:53 AM

A. Had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
never had one
B. Had an enema?
never had one
C. Pee'd in the pool?
15 years ago or something??

YsaPur EsChomuw 03-14-2008 05:01 AM

Take notes, Earthling, take notes. Here follow the oracles of an alien:

A. Had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
Hay ale, newt udder and butt chips a la NJ.
B. Had an enema?
Heed Naaman...
C. Pee'd in the pool?
Loop in the deep.

T.I.P. 03-14-2008 05:15 AM

A. Had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
a long time ago

i am going to have one when i wake up

B. Had an enema?
never

C. Pee'd in the pool?
often

Stephi_B 03-14-2008 07:55 AM

A. Like 15 years ago - my big stepsis' highschool student exchange partner Holly (from Minnesota) introduced me to this culinary highlight around age 9 (since then I'm also hooked on Coke Light, Coke Zero nowerdays), but somehow I got away from that after a time.

B. Never.

C. ~20 years ago, same is for peeing in a lake or the Mediterranean Sea (we went swimming to public pools rather rarely)

trisherina 03-14-2008 09:42 AM

When is the last time you;
A. Had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
2001? Showed daughter what they're all about. She doesn't like them either.
B. Had an enema?
2005? Prep for testing during last major exacerbation.
C. Pee'd in the pool?
1994? The pool = the Atlantic, and restrooms are scarce 50-60 feet underwater. For your notes: forgo coffee prior to donning "farmer john."

lukkucairi 03-14-2008 11:42 AM

a) high school? used to be staple lunch because I could swipe them from the cafeteria and not get caught, but I've been allergic to peanuts for a decade now

2) maybe when I was 2?

iii) last time I swam in the sea, probably last August

auntie aubrey 03-14-2008 12:03 PM

A. Had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
last july when i babysat my little niecey-poo.

B. Had an enema?
gott in himmel! never!

C. Pee'd in the pool?
probably 20 years ago.

brightpearl 03-14-2008 12:54 PM

PBJ this morning for breakfast/never/yup, prolly when I was a kid and swimming in the ol' Gulf of Mexico...we don't have those nasty little barbed catfish there.

Large Marge 03-14-2008 08:49 PM

Why isn't Priceyfatprude on the member list?

Frieda 03-14-2008 09:06 PM

that's something that happened a couple of years ago when everyone over 4000 posts got admin status in the darkroom subforum. i don't know why we disappeared from the members list. i got back into the list when i got the funkalicious forum to take care of.

Earthling 03-15-2008 12:32 PM

Hmmmm...so according to my notes;
What we have here are a bunch of pool peeing, full of poop, PB&J eaters.
When I contact my home world about the invasion...I have little doubt that ya'll be left alone....

brightpearl 03-15-2008 01:35 PM
