Erm. Sorry Trish. I think I've had a few too many. Are you having a festive break, I hope?
Trish, do you think that new song is about Julianne, or - my favorite theory - Bruce's teenage daughter?

trisherina 12-29-2007 04:08 AM

I'se a bye what bil's a boot, and I'se a bye what sails her!! I'se a bye what catches a fish, and brings 'er home to Lizer.

Hmm. It's a theory, but is it testable? I double dog dare ya to ask im. No... TRIPLE DOG!

Brynn 12-29-2007 04:09 AM

he heard us, he's looking over. I think he likes us , in a married sort of way.

I just heard somebody call that thing a flavor-saver, btw

Brynn 12-29-2007 04:12 AM

BRUCE! We like your thingy under your chin. The um soul patch thing.
(I'm almost sure it's about Julianne, cause she was a WHORE. It just seems like a long time to hold a grudge izzall)

Jack Flanders 12-29-2007 04:17 AM

man o' man you two with the Bruce. :D I worked with a guy who went to HS with him in Freehold, NJ.

Maybe Bruce just dismissed her entirely, and then had a bout of embarrassment when he realized that Julianne wasn't just another bowl of mac and cheese in the diner of life. You know?

Brynn 12-29-2007 04:44 AM

Yes, I do. Very profound and true. Although I admit I have a hard time imagining Bruce mistaking something as fancy as Julianne for macaroni. However, compared to Patti, she is macaroni.

Okay. Here are the only seats available for $95 each in Portland.

Section 319 row J seat 11-12. worth it or should I just play the CD over and over? I'm thinking it's not close enough. It's a basketball stadium. Even basketball players look tiny from up there. Bruce would be about a third of the size of that "A" in "STAGE."
Plus, I have no money. But I would find some if the red seats or GA was available.

Jack, that means because of you, I'm only three degrees of separation from Bruce. Less if i count the time I saw him jaywalk across four lanes of traffic on Beverly Boulevard holding hands with the WHORE.

Brynn 12-29-2007 04:48 AM

Which would make Patti "Spaghetti Carbonara" or something.

Jack Flanders 12-29-2007 04:50 AM

Oh - I'm so proud. :) So - what does that make our connection?

Brynn 12-29-2007 04:52 AM

Meammmaries....light the corners of my bra

Oh, well, our connection to each other, as famous international message board posters, is very very very good!!!
Or did you mean your degree of separation to Bruce through me?

Jack Flanders 12-29-2007 04:58 AM

:D Love ya Silly Head!

Brynn 12-29-2007 05:02 AM

You know, trish, thinking it over, I'm sure that he must have written it long ago when the break up was fresh, and there was no room for it on Tunnel of Love.
OR it came after TOL but who knows, Patti may have been touchy about where his creative focus was going ("Bruce, are you still holding a torch for ol' Julianne???!?"), so he put it away for a decade or so until he figured he could regift it for a new CD and hope that everyone would just think it was about his teenage daughter. Which he will deny.

Brynn 12-29-2007 05:06 AM

I...Loooooovvve youuuuuuuuu...it's a silly love song....for silly heads like you and me....no, I'm making up my own song, so let me siiiing....IIII LOOOOVE youuuuuu....yeah!

Brynn 12-29-2007 05:07 AM

Somebody push the chairs away for me?
thanks :)

Alone again, naturally.
Time to change costume, take advantage of the privacy to practice and perfect those skills.
For those of you behind the bar, and in the kitchen, my next number i would like to sing a beautiful song from Cats, a song about Grizabella, a once Glamourous Cat, who has seen better days. Thank you. Thank you, I see we have some Broadway fans out there...
It's from a beautriful T.S. Eliot poem celebrating a cat with inner beauty...
(clears throat slightly) It goes like this....

Memories...light the corners of my mind...
Misty water-colored Memories
of the way we were ---
All alone in the moonlight
all alone with my memories
of the way we were
Can it be? I was beautiful then...
In my memory I remember what happiness was
or has time rewritten every line?
Burnt out ends of sleepy summer
has ravanged my fur.
someone stutters and the street lamp gutters and soon it will be morning
If we had the chance to do it all again,
Tell me, would we? Could we?
Touch me, and a new day will begin.
