i just remember them no idea whatsoever how

trisherina 05-20-2009 01:59 AM

Link whatever I want to remember with an uncomfortable emotional tableau. In a pinch, the emotions felt by ultimately forgetting what shouldn't be forgotten will work for standard tableau. But don't overuse.

Odbe 05-20-2009 06:46 AM

Same as Perla, break it up and find sequences, square numbers or numbers that are factors of other ones. Also I associate colours and sometimes sensations with numbers. Groups of numbers mix with each other, so sometimes they make interesting combinations that I remember easily.

Stephi_B 06-02-2009 12:41 PM

Those my grandpa picked and but into slices for me with his pocket knife when we were out on our cycling trips :)
And also these yellow sweet ones (Golden Delicious?) and also those with the pink cheeks they have at Lidl's and mine of course ;)

brightpearl 06-02-2009 12:48 PM

I like this one a lot, too.

madasacutsnake 06-02-2009 06:55 PM

Granny Smith with a piece of cheddar or any apple with crumble on top. No such thing as a bad crumble. Oh wait, just remembered my mother's.......

trisherina 06-03-2009 01:58 AM

Pink Lady! Cold, cut up.

Odbe 06-03-2009 06:38 AM

Red delicious.

Hyakujo's Fox 06-03-2009 09:07 AM

yeah Pink Lady is where it's at, but if I could go back in time and get a Golden Delicious from when they actually grew them both Golden and Delicious it'd be there too.

trisherina 06-03-2009 09:48 AM

Back in time the McIntosh used to be very sweet and tart and firm, too -- it's mushier now and more fragile. And in the fall clowns would stand by the side of the thoroughfare and sell bags and baskets of them for Kinsmen fundraising. Clown apples.

treekisser 06-03-2009 10:13 AM

The Macoun in season is a gem of an apple.
Anyone ever read The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan? It has a very interesting section about apples.

Are you going to apologise to all those kinds of apples for having eaten them?

Coffee 06-04-2009 02:11 PM

I'm sorry, what was the question?

you don't apologize to apples for eating them! you apologize for NOT having eaten them!

I was going to apologize but I've forgotten what it was that I did wrong. I'm sure zero won't mind letting me take a mulligan.

a 2-parter:
1) Do you think this frog is in possession of a nasal apparatus? If yes, please indicate its location for the rest of the class.
2) What in the dickens did the little bugger just eat?

topcat 06-09-2009 12:51 AM

looks like it ate a breakfast taco

brightpearl 06-09-2009 12:55 AM

I think he ate a marshmallow. Or one of those little puffy make-up thingies.

YsaPur EsChomuw 06-09-2009 06:40 AM

1) Those are two tiny nostrils, aren't they?
2) A juicy fly. The puffing up, however, might be a reaction to the giant finger hovering above its head.

Imagine how you'd feel if you were about to be petted by something like this, only bigger:

On second thoughts, no. Please don't.
