pshaw, i could do a week all by my lonesome standing on my head.
by contrast, the last time i visited NYC i was ready to go home by day 3. i couldn't take the proximity of so many people and all i wanted to do was hide in my hotel room and watch movies for the rest of my stay. still, since i was there for a convention, i did my share of schmoozing and attending parties so my associates would probably never peg me as an introvert. |
the ¿ question of the day ? is
what was it like? |
interesting in a somewhat weird way
|
Oh... you know... phanerogamous.
|
harder than i anticipated.
|
A good hard is unanticipated.
|
over-rated

It was like getting on roller coaster ride when you aren't sure the tracks will meet at the other end.

It was like jumping into a river that you think will be painfully cold, but it turns out to be just cool enough to be refreshing, and the river grass is soft and flexible instead of bristly, and all the fish belong there, and there's no trash floating by, and there are no leeches whatsoever. Not even a little one.
In short, more fun than killing baby ducks with a ball peen hammer. |

humbling. I still can't believe she did that.

Like being so tired and dead and bored inside that you wish anything would come along, anything, even something bad, and then something does come even while you're just toying with the notion, and grabs you up brusquely and shakes you by the collar and wrings and twists you around, and prepares to spit you out and throw you back down again, and you wish harder than anything ever that you'd never had that first fateful involuntary wish, but you did.

Q for Monday:
¿What's your goal in life? Me: still searching.... but I think there is something. |
My life's devoid of direction or purpose.
|
^ the uncarved block :)
I'd like to live in the moment. |
^ i dont know how to live in anything other than the moment!
my goal in life is to relax-- i'm on the far side of the ellipse right now  |
my goal is to lead a good life, "good" being how i personally define it with full rights to change the definition as i see fit.
if you'd asked this question a year ago i would have answered differently. this is my post-satori answer. |
silence

nothing i don't have that it's possible to aim for

 my answer: “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” ;) |
^there's something wrong with every sentence ever penned,
but I think I can clear it up for you in this instance if I say I meant, "(There is) nothing I don't (already) have that it's possible to aim for." There are some things I don't have in some sense, but I can't see any way of obtaining them by aiming to get them. |
to always keep learning
to make the world more beautiful than I found it to live someplace warm, by the sea |
world domination
duh |
I read four questions but
no i don't know no no |
Five, if you get real persnickety:
- world domination - not there, but I maintain a positive attitude - not all that close, but any amount of progress is satisfying - I am not able to examine that function of my anatomy - sure as hell beats the alternative |
:p ok five wench!
#1 - world domination -heh! |
¿ question of the day ?
Which of the following do you most closely identify with, and why? a) bigfoot 2) the loch ness monster III) el chupacabra $) the yeti |
Mmmh...? Loch Ness has got a long neck, me too (for a human). But, nah, not really!
El Chupacabra I do not know long enough as to identify with (just googled), sounds interesting though: vampire-like --> vampires are beings of the night --> I love the night. But I'll identify myself with: ε)
|
None of those. I identify myself with one of the half-human, half-animal creatures from Greek mythology. But I will not say which one. :p
|
^you're not referring to medusa's in-the-armpit snakes, are you? :p
|
after a day like i've had today there's no way i can be arsed to ponder enigmas
|
El Chupacabra, of course. Sometimes he really sucks. :o

In fact, it doesn't very much matter which. I've always thought about the Minotaur, lonely and leathal, living hidden in a dark labyrinth, imprisoned. But it can be any half-human creature, not belonging, not understanding, not understood. |
tomorrow's question of the day will be: if you were to identify yourself with one of the half-human, half-animal creatures from greek mythology, would you want to be human top-half or human bottom-half?
|
yeti.
![]() |
i'd have to say the yeti - hanging out in himalayan caves all day without having to deal with the real world sounds like a plan
PS: umm...aren't bigfoot and the yeti the same thing ? |
^Of course not, silly! The abominable snowman is white and eats lemon snow cones, and Bigfoot is brown and eats little boys who ask too many questions.
