Fast forward 15 years.......

Women who, for one reason or another, be it medical on their part or an intolerance on the child's part, are unable to breast feed account for a new and frighteningly more severe version of postpartum depression fueled by not only their internal fears/doubts/questions/, but compounded by a societal pressure that they cannot possibly conform to.

Sound like some foolish guy who doesn't know what he's talking about? I already know someone who is changing their minds about having kids because of her mother's own history with both problems and the increasing societal pressure to breastfeed.

She's not discounting the benefits; it's the "Not breastfeeding is on par with riding a bull while pregnant" attitude that freaks her out.
