as I calmly accepted my diploma with a slight smile, I felt like I was finally a man, ready to enter into the world with a confident head upon my shoulders

i wish i went to college, which i never did. i did the travelling part instead of college... is money an issue? not everyone can just take a year / a couple of months off to travel ( a great idea is to work in another country for a while, teach english or something like that, make some money on the side while you're travelling )

I wish I spent more time looking for work instead of taking the first good job that presented itself to me. If you can, don't have a job while looking for your career job. You will be more likely to be able to go to interviews when needed instead of ducking out for fake personal matters or taking long lunches meeting potential employers when they would rather be at lunch. You'll also be more likely to look around a little more shopping for the best fit instead of taking the first thing that comes along.

If you have the time and money (or even if you don't have the money- just work there) you should go travel. It is your best oppertunity to do it with out the constrains of taking time off from work on a schedualed basis. Plus you might find a place you would much rather be than some bo hunk Texas town wishing you actually live in Montreal, Canada or Manhattan Beach, California or NYC

I would have liked to travel around before starting work. Luckily, there's plenty of time off in this industry to go and travel.
