where do you get your books?

i buy most of my books from used bookstores. there are a lot where i live, which i love. when im finished with them, i sell them back (although i keep the ones ive particularly enjoyed). i dont normally borrow from the library because i dont like to have timelines...lol

sometimes i borrow from friends and family (i lend my faves to others, a lot). i rarely buy books new, unless its something i just cant find used, and nobody i know has a copy.

what about you?

p.s. yard sales and second-hand clothing shops are great for finding inexpensive books.

I trade books or buy used at a used bookshop for airport gift shop fiction. The rest I get at amazon or Chapters.

ever wonder what would happen if bridget jones channeled adrian mole?

a couple of the second-hand bookstores i frequent have $1 bins, that are fun to check out. i picked up karen rivers' the healing time of hickeys. the target audience is teen girls, but it is a fun and light read, and certainly worth a buck! the line above comes from the back of the book.

Amazon.com, used book stores, and ESTATE sales!

i recently found out that a hospital in my city has a book sale on the last tuesday of each month. i checked it out today, and i picked up several books. they were all in good condition, and i paid just a few bucks for each one (the retail prices were up to $20). i can actually make some money if i sell them to one of my fave used bookstores, that pays 30% of retail. however, i'll most likely donate some back to the hospital, once i've read them.

just thought i'd mention hospitals as a possible source for all of my fellow book fiends. now my only problem is adding them to my stash, without getting crap from my husband for bringing home more books! lol
