Good Books for a Book Group

My friends and I are starting a book discussion group, and I was wondering if any of you would have titles that you think are good for book group discussions, or just plain have to be read. Input would be very very much appreciated, since it seems we're a bit at a loss as to what to read next. Thanks!

Confederacy of Dunces , John Kennedy Toole.

Author bio always makes for good book club type talk

Infinite Jest , David Foster Wallace. Great for crowds interested in suicide, tennis, and etymology.
