Whereas, by contrast, your own generosity of spirit is wonderfully illustrated.

- reassure children that there is a mighty force that loves them unconditionally
- extend help and hope to people who are broken and miserable
- endure personal inconvenience and discomfort in the name of duty
- uphold as an iconic ideal a gentle soul who loved misfits, did the impossible, and knowingly made an extreme personal sacrifice

You are also the person who created this thread, for the purpose of once again dehumanizing, stereotyping, and ridiculing a minority group of people who read and (with unsurprisingly diminishing regularity) post on this board, on one of the most cherished celebratory days of members of that group. I'll let that action speak for itself.

I'd like to say thanks to you and to other Christians here for the many good things you do in the name of your faith, and for your efforts to make the world a brighter place

this also speaks for itself

They leave free bibles in motel drawers.

Historically, Christians are responsible for some pretty awesome examples of art and architecture.

And...I have to agree with Trish that the intent for this thread was a little snarky .

Happy Fertility(ancient)/Rebirth(hijacked) day Everyone.

Why did this provoke you to create this thread, topcat? My attempt to be kind to a few people who regularly get some pretty rough treatment here on their special day of celebration was unbearable to you... why?

Targeting people as a group, and assigning characteristics or behaviours to them as a group rather than as individuals, is B I G O T R Y.

If you say so. But you might want to make note of the fact that you're the only one saying it.

Johann Sebastian Bach was a Lutheran. Having been raised a Lutheran I like to say that to all my non-Lutheran friends.
Habitat For Humanity is supposed to be non-denominational but is Christian.

Bach was an amazing musician... Soli Deo Gloria: "to God alone be the Glory." J. S. Bach wrote this (or its abbreviation "S.D.G.") at the conclusion of most of his scores
