ESPANOLA, N.M. (AP) - A La Madera woman is accused of trying to smuggle heroin into the Rio Arriba County jail inside a burrito.
Rio Arriba County Magistrate Court documents allege 42-year-old Rosemary Gonzales went to the jail Tuesday with a burrito for a female prisoner.
The court papers say jail guards discovered a hypodermic needle in the burrito.
Documents say that after guards rinsed off the needle, they discovered a brown substance that tested positive for heroin.
Gonzales has been charged with bringing contraband into a place of imprisonment. She was ordered held on $5,000 bond.
(I'll give her credit for imagination if nothing else. What a dumba**.)
