![]() Anyone heard any good bands lately?
My contribution to this thread is Stoic Frame, based out of Los Angeles, CA. If you all are not in the LA area, you can listen to their music at their website http://www.stoicframe.com (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!). Their sound is hard to define, but it's sort-of latin/alternative rock. Very political lyrics. These guys have alot to say. ![]() ~Moni~ |

Anyone here heard of They Might Be Giants? They are one of my favorite bands. Their sound is hard to define, but mostly, they’re a rock band made up of two multi-talented guys named John, and so they always have different extra people in each album. Their music is fun and frivolous and often cross genres, sometimes jazzy and sometimes poppy or boppy. I don’t have their newest albums, but Flood and/or Apollo 13 are pretty good.
for a sample of their sound and a listing of tour dates, visit www.tmbg.com |

"My name is Doctor Worm. Good morning, how are you? I'm Dr. Worm. I'm interested in things. I'm not a real Doctor but
I am a real worm I am an actual worm. I like to play the drums. I think I'm getting good but I can handle criticizm...." In case you don't know that song, it's Dr. Worm by They Might Be Giants - hilarious song that makes you want to memorize the lyrics for cases just like this. ![]() |

Listen to Warren Zevon on his deathbed:
Go to "START LISTENING" for streaming audio: and then buy the CD (this week in USA).

I saw TMBG in the early 90's, they were great. I was at the Commodore in Vancouver, and when there are enough people jumping on the floor in front of the stage, you can feel it bounce. Needless to say there was some bounce that night!

New TMBG song
Resident Life - "Am I Awake"
...very un-TMBG but extremely cool and infectuous (I can't get this song outta my head)
