Random weather ramblings...

An old movie line that fits tonight's weather:

"Auntie Em, Auntie Em! It's a twister it's a twister!"

(I know, I know. I should get out more.)

Right now the winds are absolutely insane; loud as hell, & very intense (40-50 mph). Its been going on for a few hours now, & it's a wee bit unsettling. Although it's better than a snow/ice storm, I suppose.

I hope that the weather is ok in your neck o'the woods.

Pax,
LC

oooooooo.... scary!!!
Where are you again, LadyCrow?

We're supposed to have thunderstorms starting tomorrow... I wouldn't mind too much if I didn't need new brakes and can't afford them... luckily the drive to work is all level road, no hills.
One more week...

Oh, Pesha!
Last night, we got an inch of snow.
Today, the high will be 12.... with the windchill, it feels like 5.
The wind really HURTS today....
And I thought it was bad when I was in NYC last week at Jones Beach before the blizzard! What did I know?

the wind chill is negative 15 now. really, it's not as bad as it could be, but with as warm as it was last week, this is just cruel. that wind is a biting b*tch.

I'm in Albany, NY. And I can totally empathize w/you, Deviate. It only hit the 30s here last week; for what seems like ages, the temp's been in the single digits w/very low wind chills.

I don't know if it's just me, but this winter is one of the hardest we've (the Northeast, I mean) had to deal with in a long freaking time. (Which could be seen as a good thing, but it also means that we've been spoiled & had gotten used to fairly mild winters...)

Spring, spring, where for art thou Spring???

The weather here really sucks, it's awfully cold. I have a little tiny dog that goes crippled every time I try to walk him. I'm not lying, we walk down the street and he's going along fine and then, he just goes all crippled, can't walk, can't move.....all four legs pointing in other directions. That poor damn dog, I love him, but it's kind of hard to watch sometimes.

Our dog does that also. It is something about arthritis. We now have him taking 4 pills a day for it, and for the most part that doesn't happen anymore. Unless..... it is bitterly cold, then only his left back leg does it.... and believe me, you can't carry an 80 lb Golden Retriever home..... we just dust off his paw and run like hell to get home before he can't walk at all!

oooh i hope it's not arthritis. last night (late) he couldn't make it much past the front door. I'm thinking maybe it's just because of his size. He's pretty tiny. Maybe I should get that checked.

But the little bastard is so happy all the time and is find inside the house. He just can't seem to take the cold. I've tried little booties, coats, everything and he always goes all crippled. Yet he's quite optimistic, he gets excited everytime we go out, I think he's hoping one day it'll be warm enough for him.

Well, I have to tell you, that before we put "Max" on his medicine, he was the same way. However, he got to the point where you could tell he was excited because his tail was going a mile a minute, but his poor legs just wouldn't let him move hardly at all. Once we started the medicine, it was INCREDIBLE to see the change! He started prancing and running, just like a puppy (he is 8 years old). Heck, most of the time, we can't even keep up with him.

We just went back to the vet for a recheck over the weekend. Instead of the $60/month medicines, we are now giving him over the counter, Glucosimine and Condrodine for humans. It runs about $10/month and seems to have the same effect.
