See, I'm looking at this less from a "what they did for music" point of view, and more of a "personality characteristic" point of view. One could never stop listing bands that influenced the direction of music.

I find that people alomst always have a preference for either Elvis, or the Beatles, but almost never like both equaly. You can appreciate both, but few people really enjoy both to the same level.

That being said, I'm a Beatles man...

Heh, I have a theory like that. Only it goes that there are "The Wall" people and there are "Dark Side of the Moon" people. I guess there are "Tommy" people and "Quadrophenia" people, too, but I don't know any "Tommy" people, or at least anyone who will admit to it in front of me.

The Beatles, perhaps because they are just more "introspective" than Elvis.

I really don't like Elvis OR the Beatles, though I'm very fond of John Lennon as an individual and an artist.

Although Elvis was really hot (and Jailhouse Rock is still a bitchin' song), overall, Beatles music is way cooler, imo.
