group a: germany & costa rica or ecuador
group b: england & hmmmm.. sweden.. or maybe trinidad & tobago with Beenhakker as the new trainer.. dunno group c: argentina & netherlands group d: portugal & mexico group e: italy & czech republic group f: brazil & croatia or australia group g: france & ?? group h: spain & saudi arabia or ukraine.. or maybe tunesia! it's kind of hard now all the "underdog" countries such as south korea, trinidad & tobago, ghana, togo, etc have a trainer from another country. they might actually do well this tournament! |

I like that. Makes for a more interesting tournament and there's always some really shocking upsets...

Steven Gerrard gave England an injury scare ahead of their World Cup opener against Paraguay by declaring himself only "50-50" to feature in Frankfurt.

Interesting... from the BBC:
"And so it was again today, with another rash of Rooney speculation ahead of the game against Trinidad and Tobago. Every hint and whisper at England training on Tuesday was that Rooney would be involved, not as a starter but certainly as a late impact substitute."

The whole game played down by Poland's goalie, and only one goal!

amid the fireworks last night jj went into a tirade:
'how can they celebrate beating ten men with a goal in the last minute? they should be ashamed! isn't it enough to invade them twice?!' see, americans can get it too. ![]()
