Taste of Tokyo

absolutely wonderful (and cheap) sushi... and only 15 minutes from my house. ^_^

Best pizza: Pie in the Sky
Best breakfast: Loveless Cafe (get biscuits and blackberry preserves...)
Best pub: Sherlock Holmes (fish and chips to die for and even mushy peas if you like that sort of thing)

If Taste of Tokyo is in Hillsboro Village, I believe that a friend once lifted a piece of sushi in her togo box only to find a cockroach underneath. I used to eat there a lot until THAT point.

Now my favorite Japanese hole-in-wall is KOTO. Downtown.

wow. roaches suck. oh well. it hasn't happened to me. and w00 for Koto... they roxxor ^_^ but, yeah. i like most of our sushi bars down here. have you been to Yamamoto's yet? very expensive, but really good. and no roaches ^_~

Not yet. Will check it out! My current favorite sushi is Plum Roll. It rocks my world.

So, if you're in that neighborhood chances are you have been to Brown's Diner for a big greasy chee-buhgah?

Very tasty. I used to work at Lam-Andrews and go down to Brown's about twice a month.

hells yeah! i used to go to cameron middle, so, yeah, i hung out down there as soon as i got a car. ^_^ downtown rocks. mo's is really good too.

and i could live on miso soup, fried rice, philly rolls, and green tea. **grin**

... of course, specify for me --just for the record-- which brown's are you talking about? the one off murfreesboro or the one down... ermm... gah... on the other side of nashville. i've been to both of them... and they both rock. kinda an afterthought... but i dun wanna look ~too~ dumb.. ^_^;;

I've always been a big fan of Rotiers, too. Anytime you can scrape the grease off the walls with a knife, I like it.

there's all kinds of good food in nashville. have you been to the sub shop downtown off lafayette? it's right down from great escape... best subs in nashville. and cheap. ^____^

I am always in search of the perfect sub...please tell me where!

Also, this is not an out-of-the-way eats place, but I do love a good grasshopper with pineapple and wheatgrass from Wild Oats. Maybe I will get one tonight. I love it because it turneth my tongue green! We don't have many juice bars.

but, yeah, the building's pink and green. it's.. gah... hard to explain.. maybe not lafayette.... i haven't been down that way since i left... but it is just down from great escape. not the road that goes past the beauty parlor, but on the other side of the street. you tend not to notice that the sub shop's there unless you're looking for it. i'm pretty sure it's right off the main drag, though... i dunno exactly. ^_^ gomen!

y'know where else is awesome? but not really out of the way.... is café coco. open 24 hrs a day, and seves just excellent ... well... anything with caffeine! ^_^
