Amsterdam
I'm going to Amsterdam at the end of November. I don't know where you live, but if you have any recommendations on things to do, I'm open.

well if you really want to ride a bike in Amsterdam i wish you good luck. hope you have good insurance.
![]() unusual foods, huh.. go to the Febo and have a frikandel. their website is in Dutch though.. click around in the snack info section. there's also what we call "drop", a name for several kinds of black liquorice.. tasty! definitely overrated is the windmill & cheese crap i mentioned before. but then again, i'm not a tourist and you might want to see everything "Dutch" that's around! Amsterdam is an excellent city for shopping, try the Kalverstraat and the Leidsestraat. The PC Hooftstraat is somewhat more expensive. culture: lots of museums available. the Anne Frank house is pretty impressive too. you can take a canal tour by boat if you want to know more about the different styles of architecture the city has. go at night, there will be cute little lights on all the bridges. it's pretty! then there's the red light district & coffee shops.. ![]() will you be there in a weekend or something? |

I'm not sure I'm brave enough to ride a bike inside Amsterdam. I was thinking outside Amsterdam, in the country, but I think the weather will be poor. (I don't like cycling in the rain if I don't have to.) Maybe a bike ride from Amsterdam to Haarlem.
FEBO has a catchy little tune. So FEBO is a vending restaurant. I would ask what is in a frinkandel, but I'll just give it a go. ![]() I"m looking forward to trying a "drop" or two. I like shopping. My husband would probably be bored, but because we are in a foreign country, he'll totally enjoy it. I will be there arriving Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday leaving Wednesday.

Ooooo. I really like these links especially Melkweg. That looks really cool. I like Jazz. I've bookmarked them and will check back on them as it still a little early. Too cool.
The one thing about travel is not knowing when everything closes, adjusting your schedules, trying to figuere out what to do until you get sleepy, etc. With these links I don't think that will be a problem. Thank you, thank you thank you!!! ![]()

The things you listed that are touristy are superb. I can find all kinds of touristy crap. It's the cool jazz clubs and night clubs that I wouldn't have a clue about.
It's funny I never even thought of cheese or windmills when I thought of Amsterdam. I did think of tulips, coffeeshops and canals. ![]()
