"Go Ask Alice" Review
Go Ask Alice
Dealing with life threatening issues, and giving an example of a bad experience with drugs. Go Ask Alice involves all different kinds of drugs and how the main character deals with them (character is anonymous but goes by “Alice”). It is a real diary, these things have actually happened. It has true entries from a teenage girl. The book goes through three years of her life and how the drugs affect her. After Alice uses them for awhile she begins to feel guilty and promises to stop, but then she starts again. It is a great book to get into, I couldn’t put it down because I felt I was in her shoes, I could feel her pain. She described her experiences so imaginable, it is hard to stop reading. The book deals with drugs, sex, and run-away. It has many suprising twists, she discovers what the “real world” and “real life” are all about. My opinion of Go Ask Alice is high. This was an amazing and astonishing book. It has moved me and made me more aware of the side-effects of drugs among other things. It shows the reality of drugs and how it breaks down your life. It is brutally honest and powerful. I definitely recommend this book to everyone. It explains the obstacles of a teenage life, hardships, and struggle. But most importantly how “Alice” dealt with them. This is a must-read for teenagers especially. A girl is lost in a world that many teens seemto be, finding their way too. I enjoy “coming of age” books and this was defiantly one. Tell me your opinon!
