Hmmm, used to be nothing but red. NOTHING! Mostly cabernet sauvignon, a little merlot, shiraz, and even chianti, with lots and lots of yummy beaujolais nouveau if Duboeuf (my no-owie price category) put out a good one that fall.
In a reflexive response to my heritage and to the popularity of German whites at the time I first took an interest in wine, you can't get me to drink one. I make a face just thinking about it. But you can persuade me to drink a chardonnay these days, say a nice Wolf Blass, here described as "better than your average jungle juice" .

Almost all my favorites are red... Cabernet, Amarone, Merlot, Brunello, Syrah...
But there are times when it's gotta be a Chardonnay or a Pinot Grigo... depends on the moment, I guess. ![]()
