My very first concert (I dont count the beach boys opening the padres season as a concert) was Dire Straits

And I think I just found the video for "Money for Nothing" for the 21st century...

My best has to be Pink Floyd....In San Diego...was an awsome show!

ps. I wasn't allowed to go to concerts cause I was a girl...humph....I got my concert cherry popped when I was 17 and with my dad....

I feel your pain, Zen.

I wanted to go see Debbie Gibson & thought my uncle, who's her age, would take me. Wrong!

"So will you take me? Please???"

"The only place I want to see Debbie Gibson...is in my bedroom."

TMBG at the Meridian was pretty good, but the best concert I ever went to was a Rush 2112 concert when you could still, um, smoke in venues. Duuuuude, it was awesome.

I went to Toronto on Friday and saw Sarah McLachlan. It was fantastic. She taped for a DVD. It turned out that my buddy who works at the airport met her earlier that day and made sure that her lost luggage was retrieved immediately. He told her I'd be there and she gave him tickets for last nights show in Buffalo. I couldn't go to last nights concert but he did and she mentioned her lost luggage on stage. He was in the fourth row. Cool!

Toss up between...

Toad the Wet Sprocket & The Wild Colonials @ Providence College, Providence, RI

and

Our Lady Peace & Joydrop, Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, Providence, RI

All of these bands are amazing live! Toad the Wet Sprocket was as close as I could come to a religious experience not in church.

1979, I was not quite 18 and went to see Motorhead.
Had a drink in the pub next door, and in come the band and start playing pool and drinking heavily. Chatted away to Fast Eddie Clark for a long time.
Time for the concert next door, and Eddie says come with me, and he took me in past everyone (preen preen) and I asked him what the warm up band Girlschool were like. He said he hadnt even heard them so we got some vodka and went up to the mixing desk and watched the wimmins pound out some good tunes.
Anyway, Motorhead were briliant, and Lemmy, who came to get Eddie, said to come back afterwards.
Concert was briliant, and went to the stage door. SO fvcking cool when Lemmy leans out and says "Her, her and her and (Dinz)"
Slip in to the dressing room, then on to the pub, more pool with Eddie and this girl (hooker / slut) says "and where will you guys be tomorrow?" Eddie looks at me and and I say " I dont fvcking know, just another day..." Eddie pisses himself laughing and slaps me on the back.
Anyway I won a few games and drank their beer til about 2 am.
Then Lemmy asks me if I'm coming with them....to Huddersfield the next day.
Thinking on my feet, I bluff and weigh it up...exams all done, job starts in 6 weeks, so a quick run home to my parents house, pack some undies and stuff in a bag and off I went....
....I woke up in a Yorkshire hotel room with Denise the drummer from Girlschool....

...and that my friends is the full story of how I became a roadie for Motorhead for one glorious summer......

Motorhead is one of the best f**cking rock and roll bands ever!
I read somewhere that Lemmy said they always wanted to be the kind of band that if they moved next door to you your lawn would die.
